The piece of this charger that plugs into the phone is just a bit too thick. Because of the way the charger cover pivots on a rubber hinge on the i617 (Blackjack 2), the charger actually plugs in crooked and doesn't get a "flush" connection like the USB adapter and wall charger that come with the phone. It feels like after using it for a bit it could do damage to the rubber hinge, which in my opinion is already one of the weak points of the phone.
I can't make a recommendation on a better car charger because this is the only one I tried. I gave it two stars because even though it doesn't plug in straight, it still does work. Before buying a charger, take a look at the end that plugs into the phone and make sure it doesn't look too bulky like this one. Fortunately, it was inexpensive. I think I paid more for the shipping.
