Just ordered this charger/batts. with my new Cannon camera - and the AA batts. only stay charged for a short time. I will probably return this item to Amazon.

Just make sure you take the insulating strip out. Otherwise, you get what the previous caller is complaining about.
Individually charges each battery as it should. The display shows progress only.
Tried it with both the power wart and the USB powered charging. Did reboot the computer the time I tried it but the computer came up fine with it still attached. Might have put a bit too much load on the USB chip. Haven't tried the car powered part yet but no reason it won't work.

Although it was to come with batteries, none in my pack. The digital display has a few black characters that don't mean a thing.

As a general rule, rechargable batteries are very poor.
Normally, I would not have purchased this item. However, it had been several years since I had last purchased such batteries, so I thought that perhaps technology had improved. Wrong!
This product is little short of worthless.

I only had it for 2 weeks and 2 of the 4 batteries will no longer hold a charge. Would not buy again.
