Editorial Reviews:
Product Description OpTech is always there with the latest ingenious applications for neoprene, and their Hood Hats are a good example. Now the photographer doesn't need to reverse or remove the hood in order to protect the lens from dust. Instead, he simply slips the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood.

Great Idea! November 10, 2006 Brian Koch (MI United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been looking for an easier way to protect the front my my lens without having to either take off my lens hood or trying to fumble around with the lens cap with the hood still on. Op/Tech came up with the solution! All you have to do is stretch the proper size hood hat over the hood and everything is protected and ready to go. Super easy to take off, putting on takes a little more time, but you never miss a picture putting it on anyway. Basically this is an inexpensive way to add some extra insurance against getting dirt, water, etc on your front element while you are walking around looking for shots. It is also very flexible and easy to stick in a pouch or pocket when not being used.
not bad March 25, 2008 B. Hammer High quality material, and sized appropriately for a snug fit. Only problem I have with it is that it is difficult to put on. Makes you think you need 3 hands to do it.
It works September 6, 2008 William Carlin (Reno, NV USA) I gave the Hood Hat three stars because the actual use is questionable. It goes over the lens to protect it from dirt and dust and other undesirable deposits you might encounter. It's sort of a storage device because when you're in the field using your camera, the last thing you need is a cover on your lens that might come off easily but requires both hands and some patience to put on again. Photo opportunities show up unexpectedly and taking this off and putting it on again doesn't make sense. As a cover when you're not using your camera, it's terrific.
