Great Mouse For Gaming April 3, 2007 Rodney Lucas (Lebanon, OH United States) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
The G5 is a durable, well designed mouse. I have been using it for over a year now with no problems. It's very comfortable in the hand and the ability to add or subract weight from it (by adding little weights that fit inside on the bottom) makes it perfect for the gamer. By adding or subtracting weight you can get the feel and the flow that you are looking for. Once you find that "sweet spot" weight, you will really get spoiled by this mouse. It's not cordless, but for me that's a positive thing. I hate having to constantly add new batteries or sit my mouse on its charger. I can sit down and start using it with no problems. The mouse chord is plenty long and it's not real rigid like a lot of older mouse chords. So your movements are not hampered by the chord. All in all it's the best mouse I've ever used... and I've been using them ever since they've existed.
Good mouse gets better July 7, 2007 Book buyer (Nowhere) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
This mouse has always needed more buttons and the two side buttons fill my needs nicely. I have an existing G5 that I am using for my work computer now that I have bought this one. It also looks cool. if you use a mouse get the Steermouse drivers as Logitech has not mac drivers for this mouse and their mac drivers in general are horrible.
Solid quality and feel. June 8, 2007 Alexander Fridman (Los Angeles, ca United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This mouse feels great in your hand and the weights add an extra measure of balance. While this mouse is specifically made for gaming, it is an enhancement against the basic laser mouse even within Windows applications due to its enhanced movement precision.
Great mouse for anything, not just games September 24, 2007 R. Davenport (San Jose) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I had gotten my wife a replacement mouse, an expensive MS one, and she thought it was too light and cheap feeling. So I looked at all the mice available and decided to try this one because of the weights. She loves it!!! It has a great feel, she could set the responsiveness just how she likes it, and we weighted up to where she thought it felt just right. Note that she is not a game player (except solitaire), really just surfing the web and doing email/word/excel. I ended up with the expensive MS mouse and it does feel cheap and is too light . . . oh well, maybe I can get one of the Logitech G5's for Xmas.
Disappointing accuracy - cord too stiff? November 17, 2007 Jammer (Houston, TX USA) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've been using the G5 for a few days now and I'm just about to step out and buy a cordless replacement. The problem might be due to the cord being too stiff, but the symptoms are a lack of precision and a vague sluggishness when making small movements. As an easy example, trying to play Windows Minesweepers quickly is virtually impossible - the pointer just doesn't go where it's supposed to every time, or there's a very slight delay before it gets there. The Logitech mouse I just threw out (I've forgotten its number already) didn't have this problem, but its cord was softer and more flexible. Another reviewer mentioned that the pointer sometimes moved by itself. I've noticed that as well, and that issue is definitely caused by the cord moving the mouse. I've tried different mouse pads and surfaces with no noticeable effect, and I've messed with different sensitivity and weight combinations to no avail, so sadly the G5 is going in my box-o-bits as a backup device.
