Diskeeper 6.0 Workstation

Supposedly there are many work arounds to get your firewall and the stock defrag to get along, but I tried all the tricks unsuccessfully. Diskeeper has been a necessary solution to my problem. It runs quickly and effectiently without me having to unplug or do anything to my DSL connection.

Diskeeper is a painless install and has not conflicted in anyway with my system. I have a Win 98 machine and use tools like Photoshop, Flash, as well as the Internet browsers and the office suite. The set-it and forget it feature is easy to set up, although I elected not to use it. You can easily analyze the state of your hard drive before running the defrag and then make your decision based on the analysis. The interface is easy and intuitive to get around in...in my opinion. If you end up needing to pay for a good defrag tool anyway, this is not a bad option.

I had some fragmented files that would hang my "defrag system tool" on windows. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out which files were the main culprit. The reason I needed to find out which files were fragmented, was so I could locate them and hopefully delete them because Windows defrag would "hang" when trying to defrag these files. To make a long story short, DISKKEEPER 6.0, bypassed the damaged files, and defraged the rest of my hard drive, while I contend with how I will delete the fragmented files. Because DISKKEEPER 6.0 is an "outside utility", the defraged files didn't hang the process of defraging the rest of my of drive. DISKKEEPER also pointed out the files that were fragmented by giving me the DIRECTORY AND PATH, so that I can locate those files and delete them!! Excellent tool and utility! Buy it now, it will save you plenty of headaches! Way faster than Windows defrag tool by MILES!!!!

Most efficient and fasted defrager there is, no doubt. But when I used this as my defrager and continued using Norton Utilities -it crashed my system and I had to reformat my hard drive so access it again. The problems occurred when I would use Nortons System and Windows Repair functions in conjunction with Diskeeper 6.0. I unloaded it and sold it to a friend who doesn't use Norton Utilities and just wanted an upgraded defrag tool.

I love the functionality. You can just set it and forget about it without "forgetting" about your harddrive. I download, delete, install, and uninstall on regular basis (also a part of my job) and Diskeeper comes in really handy.

It takes alittle time to udjust to a persons usage of the computer to find what is best for thier needs, but after that I think that this product is a MUST for any serious computer user.
