Fascinating graphics. Kids will love it May 16, 2006 Ganesh Kumar Eswaran (Lansdale, PA, USA) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Please buy this only if you have a decent graphics card. Note: If you are using onboard graphics that came with you computer, you may not be having a good graphics card on your system. To enjoy the 3D views of this software you need a dedicated high end graphics card (AGP or PCI or PCIe). That said, the graphics in this software are truly amazing. But the software itself becomes boring after a while. You can enjoy it for 30 minutes and then forget about it as it gets repetitive. Kids will love it very much. My 4 year old son seems to watch it for hours and still not get bored. The user interface of the software is a bit clumsy. You need to go to the Help to figure out what the 5 little buttons stand for. You can configure the number of fishes that you see on screen and their behavior. The 3D views and the colors are truly amazing and will keep your eyes wowed for approximately 30 minutes. I would recommend this software provided you have a good graphics card and have children at home

This program requires a VERY up-to-date system. If your video card doesn't have drivers created in 2005 and your DirectX is less than 9.0..., don't get this. It has lovely images but it just doesn't work right, even with 2004 video drivers. Tried their on-line support but it was frustrating to navigate. Tried email contact for tech support, but haven't heard anything in 7 days.
A Graphics Treat for New Machines August 9, 2005 David Beifeld (Herndon, VA USA) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
With my new high-end Dell Gen5, Aquazone Desktop Gardens is a first-class graphics display with an easy to use interface. I am really impressed with its realism, colors, and presentation. This is truly a sight to see on a 24 inch Dell LCD monitor. That said, I don't believe it would operate any where near the speed and smoothness on my old PC. Having a new, high-end graphics board will be a real plus. Anyway, I look forward to buying the new Expansion Packs ( which adds more aquadic selections). I will have to purchase them from the manufacturer (Allume Systems) since I can not readily find them other places online.
Interesting...but not as good as Serene Screen June 13, 2006 D. Hightower (Warner Robins, GA United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My son loved the Serene Screen screensaver I had installed on my old computer, so when we purchased a new system I decided to give this product a try. It advertises 40+ fishes, the ability to 'tap' the screen, feed the fish, etc. Installation was uneventful, and my son eagerly waited as I launched the software. some quick observations: First off, the backgrounds stink. They are extremely unrealistic...I think another reviewer mentioned that already. The fish have a tendency to 'swim' off the screen...and not return. There were several instances where there were NO fish on the screen at all. The scale of the fish seems a bit off--some fish were MUCH larger than others, and there is little sense of depth when the fish "swim away" from you. Fish movement seems jerky and unrealistic. 'Tapping' on the screen seems to work, as some of the fish turn toward the screen. 'Feeding' them seems to have some effect, but not what you would expect. This product went back under their 30-day refund policy...and Serene Screen is now on the new computer.
Good fish. Bad backgrounds May 23, 2006 H. Rhee (New York City) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had always wanted an aquarium program/screensaver and I ended up purchasing Aquazone Seven Seas collection because it was free after a manufacturer rebate. Overall, the program is well made. The interface is easy to use and installation was simple as well. After seeing aquarium programs being run on new computers at local stores, I had expected a certain level of visual quality from this program. The fish in Aquazone looked fine. Their movements and color was comparable to some of the higher end computers. However, the various backgrounds that were offered with the program were below average. The two dimensional appearance of the backgrounds stand out too much in my opinion. I wished that the background would blend in with the fish more smoothly. There are actually two backgrounds with three dimensional portions, but that makes the two dimensional parts stand out even more. I would recommend this product for people who want a simple aquarium program, but for people looking for the best aquarium software, look some where else.
