Perfect match for MacBook Pro December 9, 2007 Mingzhe Zhuang (Belmont, CA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz with only 2GB RAM. I used this to replace one of the 1GB dimm and it works flawlessly.
Works! November 13, 2007 devzero (Chicago, IL) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Ordered this for my new iMac with a little trepidation, wondering if PC5400 (as listed above) would, indeed, work (it supposedly should). When the module arrived, it turned out to be PC5300-- perfect, what I actually wanted. The PC5300 module from the crucial site was $30 more with shipping. I don't know if this was just my unit, or if all the modules are actually PC5300.
Perfect! November 27, 2007 Mike Brown (Nebraska) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ordered this for my new 24 inch iMac and it works perfectly. Easy to install and I have had no problems at all.
Excellent product for an unbelievable price! December 27, 2007 Jonathan Chen (San Diego, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I first landed on this product's page, I thought that either the price was wrong or that the product was not up to par. Well, I can now tell you that I was way off and that both the price and the product rock! Prior to buying the product, I did some research regarding wether I could install this particular chip on my Macbook; lucky for me it was a match made in heaven! The installation process was a breeze and the difference in speed and performance was simply mind-blowing! i look forward to buying more RAM from Crucial and hopefully I'll find a 4 GB chip for my Macbook Pro... either that or I'll just have to buy two 2Gb sticks!
Excellent product for Windows and Macs!! February 14, 2008 Abhinav Chhabra (Los Angeles, CA, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have installed one of these 2GB Crucial RAMs on both my 20" Apple iMac Core 2 Duo T7700 (with 256MB ATI 2600XT graphics) giving a total of 3GB RAM and on my HP 14" notebook with an Intel 965 chipset (with a 256MB nVidia mobile 8000 series graphics card) also totaling 3GB of RAM. I also use Windows Vista on the iMac using Apple Bootcamp (separate partition and NOT virtual PC). Both MAC OS X Tiger and Leopard work really fast on it (way better than 1GB of RAM), Leopard being a little heavier on the memory. As for Windows, Windows XP just explodes on power with this chip and Windows Vista becomes about 2X-3X faster. Most games for Mac don't require much memory anyways, but Windows games like NFS ProStreet, Gears of War, Crysis and Call of Duty 4 work a lot faster, specially because excess memory is available for graphics use. Video editing and Photo editing become noticeably quicker, while audio editing doesn't show much appreciable improvement. In general, multi-tasking becomes a breeze. In fact, there is a lot of excess memory available (even after allotting memory for graphics) to run an Anti-Virus, 2 Messengers, Outlook, Firefox, an HD Movie and Gears Of War paused in the background. I'm not kidding, I've tried it, they were all working smoothly. Note: It is fully compatibly with Apple iMac!! Apple will tell you that only the original Apple memory, which costs a fortune, will work BUT THEY ARE WRONG! I have been using it for the past approx. 6 months. WORTH THE MONEY!! Must Buy!! 5 - Stars!
