Extended Warranty September 29, 2007 Diane M. Fay 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a WACCA warranty and discovered it would not be of value for the item I purchesed. They have a 30 day refund policy. I have spent most of the 30 days receiving "You will hear from us in two days." My review is to carefully consider ANY extended service or extended warranty policy but don't expect WACCA to respond. They can have the $24 because it is more effort to get the refund they guarantee.
Great Buy October 11, 2007 K. Holmes (Miami FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this because it was time to upgrade. So I got an AMD64 X2 6000+ and a Firegl card and 2 gigs of memory because I wanted a fast computer to handle the DCC application I would throw at it. I was ready, opened the box and put together my components and hit the power button with anticipation and got nothing, it never got to post. Did all the troubleshooting tips from google, asus and still it didn't work. I had a dead board. Amazon got a new board to me via 2 day shipping at no cost to me. This time it work flawlessly. My 64-bit Ubuntu Linux is blazing and I'm rendering global illumination scenes in seconds. I love this board, the layout is great. The q-connect connector thing is great. The on board firewire is great. I would recommend this board 9 out of 10 time. The 1 time being you're likely to have a dead board with no post and Asus support is not that great. Even tough they got back to me withing 24 hrs, no solution was provided. Summary: Great product, Abundant features, support not so great, and it seems like quite a few of them have the issue of not entering post. Once up and running can't be beat, best price/value.
Good gaming motherboard, has bios problems September 17, 2007 Francisco Lopez (Doral, Florida United States) this motherboard has a problem with it's bios chip, aparently if you move it the chip may move in it's craddle so to fix the problem you have to shimmy this chip and hope that is all. fortunately it worked for me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- it's been almost 3 months since i bought it, now it's dying i came home after class and found it on and unresponsive, won't boot and doesn't even makes the error sounds for memory or processor, so i don't know what it can be. i'm going to send it to a tech to check it out and i'll update this review again. --------------------------------------------------------------- Been almost a month since I bought it. performs great. amazing piece of tech, good price. just wish the cd audio in jack was somewhere besides under the master crossfire PciE, but meh learned to live with it. makes a great system with and X2 6000, and 2 to 4 gigs in ddr800. me I've only got 2 but aim to go to 4 at least.
It is a good motherboard. December 3, 2007 Juan Coste This motherboard is simple but good, it does not have many accessories but it works superbly well, if you search for something simple but good, this is what you need.
Error Board December 7, 2007 J. Gitlin (NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This thing is the cause of nonstop trouble for me. If you plan on running a 64 bit machine get a different mobo. The audio drivers for the integrated sound card don't work for a lot of people. Spend a little more and get a nicer board. I'm going to fill out my second RMA for this piece of junk.
