Jams constantly August 28, 2007 Rambam HaTalmid (Sydney Australia) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Absolute rubbish. Jams constantly. Jams every 3 to 4 days. Has not fixable jams every 2 weeks. Jams in inaccessible parts of the paper path, requiring it to be sent back to the supplier. We use this at work in a vertical market health application and have had to get a second back up printer to use when this is back being repaired during its regular outages. This in in a low intensity application that generates around 150 A4 pages a day. We have tried different paper qualities and sizes with no improvement. We would not use this if we were not contstrained to use it by the stupid vertical market application that we have that ties us to it.
worst printer ever made August 28, 2007 Masoud Doolabi 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
this printer has the same problem as Lexmark E232 and gives a lot of paper jam. we bought 10 of this printers 4 months ago and only 3 of them are working fine.
Good quality, stable printer, but expensive ink February 12, 2008 D. J. Seifert (WA state) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I also have the E250dn (network attach model) and use it to print about 150 pages per month. I have had only two paper jams in that time (both my fault for not carefully stacking the paper) and they were easy to clear. Print quality is quite good. My chief complaint is that the cartridges are priced sky-high ($100+) and non-Lexmark branded "compatible" cartridges may not work due to the electronic chip-matching circuits required in the cartridge. The manufacture has placed this function (which adds cost) to prevent, or inhibit, use of non-Lexmark brand (i.e., expensive) print cartridges. I guess the cost of ink appears to be the only way the printer vendors make any profit.
Wonderful August 24, 2007 Preston Albritton (Lexington, KY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this model for the duplexing capability. It is simply wonderful. Fast, very high quality prints. It makes 75 duplexed prints in just a couple of minutes. Plug and play, cartridges are anywhere from $60-$90, depending on where you find them. It makes waiting on an inkjet seem silly. I can't say enough good about it. I used to use an HP model of similar price, but it took FOREVER to warm up and print. I can print 10 times as many sheet on my E250 in the same amount of time.
Very pleased October 3, 2007 Michele P. (Issaquah. WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I also bought this printer for it's true duplexing capability. For it's price (very reasonable compared to other duplexing printers) I wasn't expecting great performance. But I have been delighted. It is very fast. Easy to feed single sheets (including small sizes like index cards). And I have only had problems jamming with one particular document (consistently with that document probably because of a software issue with that document). But I should add that I am not a high volume user.
