Product Description The Hitachi Travelstar 7K200 is the industry's only third-generation 7200 RPM notebook hard drive. It delivers double the capacity and a 22% performance improvement over its predecessor. Despite the higher spin speed, the 7K200 offers comparably low power consumption, heat emission and acoustics to its 5400 RPM counterparts, so users don't have to trade off battery life or audio quality for high performance. In addition, with its higher shock specifications, Travelstar 7K200 is designed for the most discriminating notebook users.

Wait for the 7K320!! July 4, 2008 Musiclover/RIAA Hater 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Hitachi Travelstars are fantastic performers and highly reliable. But don't spend your money on this soon to be obsolete model. On May , 200, Hitachi announced the 7K320 - an updated version with a huge, 320GB capacity, that is not only larger and faster than its predecessor, but also consumes less power. Clearly retailers like Amazon are trying to clear out their old inventory before revealing the new model. Don't be a fool - wait for the new one. [...]
Backup drive for Thinkpad June 20, 2008 Joseph B. Hart Jr. (Cary, NC USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Get this fast serial ata drive, an IBM Serial ATA drive caddy, and Acronis True Image. Then you can clone your hard drive to your backup drive in a snap. Works great. Nice and fast drive. I wish is was BIGGER.
More Space & Performance! August 24, 2008 K. alsanea (Kuwait) My IBM-Lenovo ThinkPad T61 came with 160 GB 5400 hard drive it was noisy and slow, so I decided to buy the 7K200 more space + increase in performance is exactly what I was looking for so I purchased it and after installation I immediately noticed that my notebook became at least 15% faster, the palmrest felt cooler and no more clicking sound and I haven't noticed any increase in power consumption I highly recommend this product.
