great hardware - no, and I mean NO, support! July 30, 2008 Boston Jake (Boston, MA) 3 out of 13 found this review helpful
After shelling out close to $3,000 you would think that Lenovo would provide me support for the computer. That's what I thought. However, it turns out they only provide hardware support and refused to help with a connectivity issue that only happens only with my new Lenovo and none of the other five computers that connect to this LAN.
Consistently bad service experience with Lonovo August 19, 2008 G. Mathias (Jersey City, NJ United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought my first lonovo laptop after many years of owning Compaq and Dell notebooks. The main reason for buying a lenovo was the battery life on the computer (6-8hrs), the size and weight. I have now owned the unit for about 6 weeks and the battery life, size and weight are great. However, I have had so many problems with the unit (wireless connection getting dropped - requiring a reboot everytime, thinkvantage software not working right, problems with the fingerprint login etc etc). What is shocking is that both the techinical help and customer service are CONSISTANTLY bad. The service is provided by 800-ibm-serve, based in Atlanta. I could go on and on...but in short..save your time and money and buy another brand.
Incredible hardware, but huge bug issues August 27, 2008 Noah R. Freeman (Boston, MA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First- product is great in hardware- size, battery life, screen etc. BUT- incredibly buggy. The "thinkvantage" software chokes on most complicated network connections ,and cannot be rebooted well. the wlan access is very buggy- sometimes insists "unauthorized wlan card inserted" and refuses to boot, VERY frequent "blue screens of death". Support nonexistent. Generally frustrated with this purchase
Will never buy another Lenovo September 17, 2008 redwood (philadelphia) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just getting this machine from Lenovo was difficult. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. The product itself is ok; thin? yes light? yes. But the positives pretty much end there. This thing is so buggy someone in China should be very embarrassed. Constant issues and crashing on a $3,000 machine is simply not acceptable. The screen and battery life leave a lot to be desired IMO as well. Save your money; buy something for half the price that actually works.
