Great Job Targus! November 14, 2005 Joe Smo (New Zealand) 146 out of 152 found this review helpful
This case is of very high quality. There is padding around the entire bag. Total, there is about one inch of padding on each side of where the notebook is stored. The clips that allow the bag to be hung around the shoulder are metal so they will not break off in the future after long use. Although metal clips sound like a small detail, they are really very important: in the past, my notebook case had a plastic clip that broke off as I was swinging the case over my shoulders; don't let this happen to you. All the zippers on the case are made of metal as well. If the metal clips or the zippers break, the case is backed by a lifetime warranty. Thank you Targus! The pocket that holds the notebook is very well padded. I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with a 14.1 inch screen that fits very nicely. The case can probably hold notebooks up to 15 inches with no problems. The pocket that holds the notebook also has a small Velcro strip that goes across the notebook after it is put in. The zipper on the notebook pocket has two holes that a lock can go through. There are 4 separate zippered compartments total. One is designed to hold papers and folders but is not large enough for a binder. One holds the notebook. The other two pockets can hold cables, a mouse, and other miscellaneous objects. I always carry my notebook, a mouse, a mouse pad, an Ethernet cable, iPod, iPod charger, iPod cable, notebook power adapter, and a USB flash drive and I still have space for more. The price that Amazon has is a steal. Other cases of this quality will easily run $50 or more. PS. The bag is not waterproof for those who want to know. Pros * Lifetime warranty * Metal clips and zippers * Good amount of padding all around * Lots of space * Has Velcro straps on the inside in logical spots * Excellent price (free shipping also) Cons * Not waterproof
The Targus CVR600 Is Versitile, Well Made And Inexpensive July 8, 2004 mp3support@wi.rr.com (WI, United States) 143 out of 171 found this review helpful
This is the least expensive Notebook Backpack that I could find but it's surprisingly well made and stylish. It looks much better than its picture...MUCH better. I like the numerous zippered pockets. There's a place for everything, digital camera, cell phone, papers, books and even a mouse. I prefer taking an external USB mouse instead of using the touch pad on my Notebook. There's three nice bubble type pockets, one of which fits my optical USB mouse nicely. My big Laptop with its 15.4" wide-screen fits inside the Backpack's built-in sleeve like a glove with no room to spare. Another nice feature is the PVC coated bottom. This will protect the computer if you inadvertently set the pack down on wet ground. Most Notebook Backpacks are considerably more expensive without giving you more. The Targus CVR600 was a perfect fit for my budget. Plus it's easy on the eye with good quality and plenty of compartments. I give it my highest recommendation. (Note: Amazon had the best price after FREE shipping was factored in.)
Awesome product and incredible value November 13, 2004 Kevin Woodward (Soquel, CA United States) 53 out of 58 found this review helpful
I purchased this product as a backup for my $100 leather laptop case and because I saw it listed as a top seller -- it's now my full-time laptop carrying case and I understand clearly why it is so popular. Well-designed, sturdy and light ... perfect for the office as well as school. Lots of pockets without being gimmicky, ergonomics were definitely a major consideration in product development. It's so much more comfortable than my pricier laptop case and so much more versatile, too. I can carry books, files, lunch -- just about everything but the kitchen sink without getting a sore shoulder. My purchase price was <$20 with the rebate but I would easily pay twice that with pleasure should I ever need to replace it. Un-be-liev-a-ble. Great for students or as a gift.
light-duty notebook case, very light and very basic July 24, 2005 +++ (CA, United States) 30 out of 38 found this review helpful
This notebook case is not a kind of case which you often see people traveling with; it is made of a soft material which would allow you, if you wanted so, to pack the case into a roll like a sleeping bag. It does not have any serious side pockets or roomy internal compartments (you might be able to fit several folders with papers next to your laptop, but even a power supply would buldge from the side), does not provide any protection for your computer other than a medium-thin padding on all sides, and does not seem to be water or dirt - proof. Additionally, the plastic clips which are used to attach its shoulder belt suggest that it was designed for light duty applications (more expensive models use metal clips). This approach allowed Targus to make this case very light and very well suited for transporting a notebook short distances, like from a parking lot to your office. However, if you want to travel with your laptop, you will be tempted to either use this case as merely a sleeve to store your laptop in your carry-on bag, or to get a more robust case. Be sure that you understand what you are buying, it will not work equally well for all applications. It is very attractively priced, but when you see and touch it, you realize that it is not that much of a bargain. IMPORTANT NOTE: Several reviews on this page, including the two most highly ranked reviews which appear first on this page, refer to Targus backpack, which is a completely different product! Don't get mislead, they are totally irrelevant to this slip case! Watch carefully for a comment in italics at the end of the reviews to see which product they refer to.
Anaconda !! November 10, 2007 Amanda Richards (Georgetown, Guyana) 25 out of 54 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3ASGEQUD4CR3M This video review is inspired by a National Geographic documentary of an anaconda having a capybara for lunch. WARNING! Although no laptops were harmed during the filming of this video, people who have never heard my voice before may suffer hearing loss or disorientation. Do not adjust your volume - except maybe to turn off the sound. You have been warned. The sleeve, or slip case, is extremely light and durable, thanks to a Neoprene exterior (I have no idea what Neoprene is, but that's what the manufacturers say it is, so I'm not arguing) It holds my 17 inch laptop comfortably, with lots of room in the front pocket for cords, headphones and other stuff, and it comes with a handy carry strap for when you're heading off to exotic locations to film anacondas. Great brand, great product, great predator Amanda Richards, November 10, 2007
