Love it... November 24, 2006 C. Faraone (Port Washington, NY United States) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
I've been using a Kingston 2 GB Data Traveler Flash Drive (formatted for Mac) for months now and haven't had a single problem with one minor exception. Unlike 1 GB drives that can be plugged into the keyboard USB port, the 2 GB drive has to be connected directly to the computer (desktop or laptop) or an A/C powered USB hub. In addition to being 100% reliable, the drive is fast, very small and durable. I carry it around in my change pocket. I use the Data Traveler to not only backup the hundreds of files (but not pictures or tunes) on my home and office computers but to make backups of the home computer on the office computer and vice versa. Having watched too many customers (I'm in the computer business) cry the blues after learning that recovering valuable data lost due to fires, theft, hardware crashes, and viruses is often impossible or can cost thousands of dollars I'm convinced that it's insane to not make regular backups. Especially when it's so convenient and inexpensive.
Fine but doesn't support Ready Boost February 15, 2007 W. Leigh (Seattle, WA) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
It's a good enough jump drive but it doesn't have fast enough write speeds to support the Ready Boost feature in Vista.
Don't buy this product if it will go in your pocket. August 27, 2007 FroggyM (Washington, DC) 6 out of 20 found this review helpful
This product seemed to work perfectly well. However, I put this on my keychain, which went into my pocket. The problem is that the little white cap falls off all the time. It is too loosely fitted to the drive, making it fall off with little to no force. It was only a matter of time before the cap fell off without my noticing. Now, I have no cap, and the device is pretty worthless to me without its cap.
Decent 2 GB Flash Drive March 8, 2007 Liz (Whitehall, PA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this drive to shuffle pictures and documents around during grad school. If you can stand the yellow-green/white color scheme this is an excellent choice. It's not super fancy, but it does its job. There are no extra programs on it (like sandisk's U3)- just the drive. It came with a tiny, tiny, flimsy string to attach the drive to a keychain. If you're prone to losing things, I'd invest in a larger, more robust lanyard. Overall: good choice for price.
Data Traveler March 17, 2007 Brenda D. Morrow (Brighton, TN USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this for my husband and he is very pleased with it. I personally think the transfer speed is a bit slow but I guess I'm prejudiced. I have the Data Traveler II which is much faster. He likes it because he can carry most files with him but yet it is not too expensive if he should lose the drive.
