Invaluable tool, with only minor issues. January 7, 2008 Christopher L. Canfield (Boston, MA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
The X54 Pro is a great work of engineering. They managed to fit a full tray of functionality into a tiny card sized mouse. While not as comfortable as a full-sized mouse, the X54 is actually quite light and easy to use. Pointing feels precise and easy. Three button free moving operation is a nice step up from cramped trackpads with 2 buttons. Even though it doesn't weigh very much, it still feels solid in the hand. And driverless operation is always a plus. Similarly, as a presenter this mouse is great. Comfortable, small, functional... the built in laser is a great touch. It's basically everything you could want in a bluetooth presenter. Of course, the biggest feature of the mouse is its ability to store and charge within a PCI-Express slot on your laptop. The mouse is hidden away in my laptop except for the very tip of the end nub, which uses LEDs to show charging status. Whipping it out is a momentary task, and the mouse is ready to use almost instantly. While I've been too lasy to drag around my other notebook mouse, this one is definitely getting some use. There are only really a few issues that I would bring up in the functioning of the mouse. One, the inclusion of the touch strip scroll wheel is a welcome addition, but the actual implementation seems off. Scroll speeds are jerky and unpredictable, and it frequently gets the direction of the scroll wrong. Second, the mouse has light which blinks to let you know which mode it is in. It looks pretty, but the annoying constant blinking light has a way of drawing attention towards the mouse and away from whatever you're trying to present. I can't speak to the long-term durability of the mouse, as it hasn't been released for very long. This review may be revised downward in the future if longevity issues arise. But for the moment at least, I've finally found a notebook mouse / presenter that I can actually use. A great Sophomore effort from Newton Peripherals.
A must have for the business traveller January 3, 2008 S Reddy (Pasadena, CA USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have hated carrying bulky wireless around with me when I travel. This little card which fits in the computer is fantastic. No worrying about batteries running out, plugging in a wireless adapter, etc. On top of that it operates powerpoint presentations flawlessly and provides a laser pointer to boot. I don't know how I managed without it. Highly, highly recommended. My only complaint --- the scroll wheel function is a little sensitive --> I haven't tried to manipulate the sensitivity yet in "Control Panel", but that is likely also adjustable.
makes sure your PC have the right slot February 19, 2008 Khurram Khan 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Good concept but my PC does not have an X-54 slot. Make sure before you buy that your PC has a X-54 slot. Will not work with older PC buscard or newer X-34 slots.
...HERE it comes to save the Da-a-a-a-a-aY!!!! April 14, 2008 Leo A. Dubois (Hawaii) The MoGo presenter Mouse is not a "mickey mouse" little toy. It is a fully loaded, compact little mouse that steers around like a European sports car. It requires NO batteries because it charges up inside the pcmcia slot on your laptop. One disclaimer here: Be sure you check on which MoGo mouse works on your laptop BEFORE you buy one.. I have a Lenovo T60 and the MoGo presenter X54 fits snugly into the slot. I also purchased a Mogo BT for my daughter's Lenovo tablet and it has a different sized tail section (look at the picture to see why). That said, I've go to rave about the ease of use, mouse storage, NO snagglily wires and I NEVER have to run off to the store to buy batteries for it. The money I save more than covers the cost of my Mighty mouse. One more thing... the customer service department was FAST, courteous, and EXTREMELY helpful. Write them for any questions you might have regarding which mouse to buy. ps. They have a bluetooth adapter for laptops with out bluetooth. One more thing, ..the slider that allows you to scoot up and down your screen is very sensitive so tap gently to make it move up and down. Last word, ...it doesn't take very long to recharge.
Mogo presenter mouse X54 April 28, 2008 Neale Fetterly (Cincinatti, Ohio) Fantastic. While I don't use it every day it's great to know you have a presentation (powerpoint) controller and laser pointer with you at all times. Works surprisingly well as a mouse. Very easy to switch modes and light changes from blue to red to let you know what mode you are in.
