Rebranded version of the same radio February 4, 2006 Paul E. Davis (Seattle, WA United States) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I picked up this radio "rebranded" by a marine retailer. I've found it works very well. I was also able to connect a handheld GPS to it with very little effort. The power selection feature is nice for not blowing away anyone near you. The DSC feature is nice for getting the location of family members in others boats. I really like the one touch "distress" feature, although I've never used it. When connected to a GPS, it will send your location to the Coast Guard. Good for me since my wife doesn't speak english. I have nothing negative to report other than the mic cannot be removed. However, there is a remote mic available separately. I would like to include instructions for connecting a serial connector to the included accesory cable (for the GPS) but amazon doesn't allow this. Maybe you can "search" for it.
Rugged and Simple January 11, 2007 T. Sise 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I installed this radio in a remote area in Fiji as part of a Peace Corps house that my son lives in. It is powered by a car battery that is recharged by a thin film solar array. It draws little power and covers a good portion of the east end of Vanua Levu.

Very nice radio that works as advertised, I love the all scan feature, 16/9 button and WX reception and alert feature. This was the best price I could find on the net with fast shipping.

This is the 4th or 5th radio we have purchased. Needless to say we like this radio. They work great and the delivery of each one was excellent. Thanks for the fast and good service
Good Radio for the $ May 19, 2008 Rodoracer (Coastal North Carolina, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had good luck with it, there is a 5 foot antenna mounted on the t-top that it's connected too. Decent microphone and speaker. Not all of teh bells and whistles of some radios, but well worth the $.
