Product Description Brand New Professional Digital Duplicator screws into the filter thread of the lens adapter or existing lens. The built-in high definition close-up optics allow you to transfer slides into digital cameras easily with no lose in quality. You will actually enhance you picture quality every step of the way. The best results are obtained with well exposed, low to medium contrast slides. The opal diffuser at the end of the Digital Duplicator helps to provide even illumination. Filter effects can be added (We do not supply lens adapters) by placing suitable filters between the camera and the duplicator. Create more drama in video presentations by using the zoom lens to home-in on the centre of a slide and so creating a sense of motion. If you wish to add sound to your photo presentation, follow the manufacturers instructions, When copying with an SLR camera, use an 80mm 120mm zoom lens and set the diaphragm at F11 or smaller for sharper pictures. Create digital images, movies or copies of your 35mm slides with your digital camera, camcorder, movie camera or 35mm SLR. This copier is designed to work with any camera and lens combination (as long as your camera allows threaded devices to be attached). This is the highest quality, most capable and versatile film copying attachment on the market. If you are looking for the highest quality option for film duplication at an affordable price, you have found it! CLOSE-UP PHOTOGRAPHY: The lens of the Digital Duplicator may be used as a +10 close-up lens. Remove the lens unit from the Digital Duplicator and attach it onto the camera lens for close-up picture taking. HD Slide Copier Adapter November 6, 2006 EZ (Pittston, PA USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The step-down adapter that comes with this copier is 58mm-52mm. This was not clear in the documentation. The popular Canon Lens EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS requires a 67mm-52mm step-down adapter. Once you have the correct adapter the copier works very good.
HD Slide copier January 11, 2007 Lewhovu (Portland, OR USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
great product. bought a $300 slide scanner, very poor quality and took forever to scan. This cost me $60+ works great. took me about 6 hrs to copy 400+ slides. made some adjustment on lightroom. very happy with the result. got a lot of compliments about the quality.
HORRENDOUS Optical Quality! July 22, 2008 Mike (Sheboygan Falls, Wisc., uSA) This is a Bower brand slide copier (shown with the yellow box and moveable slide stage). The adjustable slide stage is good. The translucent screen is good. The quality of construction is good. The optical quality of the lens is abysmal. It seems incomprehensible to me that anyone would accept this. Only the center of the image is sharp. The outside edges are VERY (not just slightly) unfocused. When I first ordered this copier from 47th Street Photo, I got an Opteka copier (shown with a red box, and fixed slide stage) instead. Aside from the fact that the image and description were both incorrect (and now appear to be corrected), the Opteka is better quality than the Bower, but neither is anywhere near the quality you would expect from a VERY cheap camera lens. If you project the slide on a screen and take a picture of it, you will undoubtedly get better quality than the Bower, and will also probably do better than the Opteka. I opted to borrow a macro lens, and use a modified slide copier (with no optics). You would probably do much better by using a macro lens, and a simple board with a square hole cut in it to hold the slide. I cannot recommend the Opteka because it noticeably degrades the image sharpness. The Bower is just unbelivably poor. Please save yourself the frustration of trying to get your money back.
