Product Description Hewlett-Packard provides a wide range of utilitarian business tools that make the workplace more productive. HP's efficient copier products give you fast digital copies and advanced automation features. You can literally do it all with a little help from HP. Designed to give you a wide range of options based on your budget and requirements, HP copiers are versatile performers, providing all the functions with industry-standard HP quality.
Amazon.com Product Description When your small office requires a professional-quality color copier, the Hewlett-Packard 190 digital color copier provides both crisp black-and-white and true color reproduction, as well as enlargements and reductions, automatically adjusting for different paper types. Access the automatic document feed and a range of copier modes for affordable high-caliber images at speeds any business would value. With rich color reproduction at up to 9 copies per minute and fast black copies at up to 12 cpm, the HP 190 copier includes enhanced text and gray scale for crisper black-and-white images than desktop analog units provide. Copy resolutions deliver 600 x 600 dpi for black and 1,200 x 1,200 dpi for color. HP applies CopySmart II digital technology to deliver a scaled range of 25 percent reduction to 400 percent enlargement. Among the features included is two-on-one copy mode, which reproduces two original documents on one page, saving paper. Clone mode reduces and reproduces multiple copies onto one page, and mirror mode reverses the image onto fabric transfer paper. Versatility is important in a business copier, and the HP complies with varied media sizes: letter, legal, executive, envelopes, index cards, labels, and custom sizes. It accepts paper weights from 16 to 36 pounds in plain, photo, glossy or matte papers; ink-jet labels; transparencies; and iron-on transfers. HP produces fine-quality copies supported by an input tray capacity of 150 sheets to reduce refilling and permit continuous copying. Plus, the 30-page automatic document feeder speeds your progress. HP estimates a cost of $0.07 per copy. With compact dimensions of 18.5 by 19.6 by 19.88 inches, the unit takes up less space but doesn't sacrifice sturdiness (its weight tops 32 pounds). Hewlett-Packard supports the 190 digital copier with a three-year warranty. --Barbara Price

It's on my wish list... July 26, 2000 John Dilbeck (Murphy, NC USA) 36 out of 40 found this review helpful
...because it produces beautiful color copies, as well as crisp black & white copies. I don't own this copier (yet), but I had the chance to see it in operation at my friend's home office about a week ago. He was copying 8 x 10 color photos with this copier, and even on 20 pound bond paper, it was a very close copy. The two-on-one feature is great if you want to copy both sides of a hand-out onto one side. It works like a charm, as does the resizing feature. I gave it four stars instead of five only because I haven't used it over an extended period and don't honestly know how it will hold up in typical use. I've already recommended it to another friend.

Purchased the HP190 1 wk ago basically on the strength of my strong previous experience with their printers. Found immediately that the machine doesn't copy any original larger than letter size...(my own fault), but then also found that it truncated my documents and left off the last line on a letter page and in my case, a crucial line. Shouldn't a copier that has a setting for 8 1/2" x 11" actually copy that size? I thought so too, and returned it for a Xerox XD100 which is a WIZ machine. I lose the color capability, but have about the best copy you can get anywhere!
don't bother December 16, 2002 M. P. Long (Charlotte NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The print quality is good but everything else stinks. It doesn't print legal nor does it print full letter (it crops the letter unless you scale it down to 91%). Everytime you go to copy it always has to "warm up" (for an inkjet??) which takes about 30 seconds. So if you want to just be able to make a quick copy...forget it. It also has a nasty tendenacy to paper jam, especially when doing multiple copies.
