Outstanding printer December 7, 2007 Wilbur Sachs (Chicago) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace an Epson Stylus C86, which ceased to deliver adequate color images after a year's use (using only Epson cartridges) and did not provide timely or adequate customer service when requested. This Canon (it's my first Canon product ever) is outstanding -- outstanding value & outstanding image quality.
Black Ink Smears November 29, 2007 Lydia G. Shipman (Newport News, VA United States) 9 out of 33 found this review helpful
I bought this printer from CompUSA 10/15/07. I installed it on my iMac and it worked fine. When I changed operating system to Leopard I had to re-install the printer software but the printer still worked well both as a photoprinter and a text printer. Then about 11/20/07 the black ink smeared whenever a heavy line or bold type was printed. I performed all the maintenance procedures given in the Pixma iP3500 manual. Test prints of color all looked fine but the black ink test prints had small about of smearing, but when I printed real document the black in smeared. At the time of purchase I bought a CompUSA Printer Express Exchange Replacement Plan and they are sending me a new printer in about two weeks. Not too express. I hope the new one will work longer than this one.
excellent fast printer--but some difficulties setting up with mac January 8, 2008 T. Conlan 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
An excellent, fast and very cheap printer. Works well even with a wireless router, but I had some difficulty getting the printer to work (Use primarily a MacBrook Pro). I found that when first trying to print, it is important not to print from iphoto, as the printer will not set up properly. First print a normal word document, or email with this printer (it can be selected as a new printer "bonjour") and then try printing photos. Received truly first rate support, however, from Canon.
Canon is the best - can buy generic ink January 18, 2008 T. Sullivan (Dallas, TX) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is my second Canon Pixma printer. Love how reliable they are and pretty fast for an inexpensive printer. Best part is you can buy generic ink replacement wayyyyyyyy cheaper.
Cheap but............................... February 9, 2008 T. Macisco 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
This printer may be cheap, but watch out when you buy replacement ink! It'll cost you more than the printer itself! I returned mine, and bought a Canon i900d off eBay for around $90.00. The ink only cost $25.00 at the most for 2 cartridges of each color. Don't waste your money on this one! I lost money buying it because it had free shipping, because when I returned it I lost about $15.00 on it.
