Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Labtec Verse 524 is a desktop microphone that uses the Labtec exclusive NCAT technology to filter out unwanted background noise. The microphone stands on the desktop or it can be attached to the monitor (mounts included). The high-tech look of this microphone will match with any home/office desk.

Customer Reviews:
Bare bones, but works great for Google Talk. January 16, 2006 B. T. Denyer (Midwest, United States) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
We bought this for use on Google Talk. The voice comes over clear and the background noise seems to be held to a minimum. Simply Plug and Play - no additonal software comes with it, nor is there a need for it. All you have to do is plug it in to the microphone jack (sometimes conveniently colored pink) on the back/front of your computer -- it should start working imediatly. Mine came with two bases: one for your desk and one that you can stick to the side or top of your monitor (or wherever.) The cord is plenty long enough for you to be able to plug into a computer that may not be next to your monitor. It even comes with a short troobleshooting guide (which could be useful for those that have NO experience finding the microphone volume on your computer.) If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get your voice over the Internet, then I HIGHLY recommend this product. If you are looking for high-quality voice recording you may want to look for something more expensive. Minus one star for the desk stand. If you pivot the mic it tends to fall out of the stand (which is weird because you have to push hard to get it back in.) Not meant to be a true pivot point or moved around alot. Just set it and forget it.
Do not buy this even if your life depends on it! April 27, 2005 Flap Jackson (State Road, NC) 5 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have bought two of these both of them do not work now. It is a piece of junk. If your life depended on you using this don't it will short out on you.
Great for speech recognition May 29, 2005 G. Johnston 5 out of 16 found this review helpful
This review is for a similar product that I bought at Wal-mart. It looks very close to the one in the picture. I will be using this microphone for speech recognition and so far, so good. I am very happy with this microphone.
Labtec Verse 524 Desktop Mic May 7, 2007 Leslie Jones (Akron, OH) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wow, what can I say about this product that hasn't already been said. This product although serving its purpose is quaint to say the least. The microphone itself was extremly low and I had to yell into it in order to receive an audible voice that I could hear on my speakers. Overall, don't pay over $10 for this item as it is not worth more than that.
