Product Description The DPS-5000 is a high speed battery charger kit that is designed to take full advantage of todays high capacity rechargeable batteries. It has been specially designed to charge both AA and AAA batteries in 1 hour. Its lightweight and compact design makes it easy for travel. Charge your batteries at home or on the road. It includes both a 12 volt cigarette lighter connector as well as a standard AC power connector and features 120/240 Voltage for international use. Included in this kit are Four of DIGIPOWER's BH2000AA High Powered 2000mAh Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. It is widely known that digital cameras drain batteries rather quickly. With the use of flashes and LCD screens, AA batteries don't seem to last very long. DIGIPOWER's BH2000AA rechargeable batteries are designed with the digital camera user in mind for longer lasting power. However, these batteries can be used with all electronic devices using AA batteries. For a complete compatibility list please refer to the original manufacturer's web site.

Bought 2 and neither worked April 2, 2005 Marc D. Behr (NH) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I purchased 2 of these units. I plugged in both and waited for the batteries to charge. The first unit claimed that the batteries were fully charged after about 15 minutes, but they only lasted about 30 minutes in my Garmin Rino 130 (should have lasted several hours). Trying again the charger indicated fully charged again in 15 minutes. Apparently no good. The second set continued to charge and after about 3 hours the unit overheated and melted with the batteries expanding and leaking.
Very bad.... August 5, 2005 Niklas Hallgren (Los Angeles) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is not a good charger-seems like it doesn't charge the batteries to full capacity. Can't get more than max an 1 hour and half out of these batteries with my Canon S2. Basically they seem to suck-big time. I've already charged them like 3 times before even starting to learn the camera!! Maybe they will become better after a while-don't know....
So far, so good... January 11, 2005 ali (Cupertino, CA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I didn't know what capacity of batteries this kit would come with, but it arrived with 4 2400mAh AAs. I haven't done any comparative experiments but they are letting me take lots of pictures. The charger took about an hour (I think a bit less) to charge the 4, and the kit comes with a car adapter for when you're on the road. If the batteries hold up over time, I think this is a good product. (side note: I just saw in Costco a Panasonic system of a rapid charger (1-3 hrs), carrying case, car adapter, 8 2300 mAh AAs, and 2 750 mAh AAAs for a little under $25!)
perfect...for my busy lifestyle May 1, 2007 D. McIntyre (Homewood, IL United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
i came across these by accident and i am SO happy! when i purchased this kit (with the provided low level/use batteries) i also puchased a higher level battery so they would last longer. when i travel i bring all of my batteries with (since i can charge them in the car or with a standard outlet). the thing i learned early on with my rechargeable batteries is that you cannot mix batteries and chargers. you must use the charger that is provided (so purchase loads of batteries for your desired brand or locate them when you need more). the only drawback i've found is that it's difficult to locate the AAA batteries (AA seems to be easy to find). one last note...when i needed more batteries, i contacted the digipower company and they were great at helping me locate just what i needed. they make battereis. that's it. good luck with wherever your batteries take you...
Bad, bad bad... April 7, 2008 Thiago Caparelli Only worked the first time the batteries were charged. After the second time, it says the batteries are full after 2 or 3 min, and they never get more than a few minutes of charge in my Canon S5IS. Had to buy another charger.
