These disks are made by the same company that makes many of the other name brand disks, Memorex included. I purchased some and had excellent results. Of course, I hav enot found much that my drive will not burn well. I use a Kypermedia (Cyberdrive) 8X DVD+R. i have made a few coasters, but I would say that 99% of those were my own fault.
As far as disks go. You should really find one that works well with your burner and stick with it. Or, do as I do and buy a few of whatever is on sale and try them out. You never know, you may find a good deal on a disk that will work just as well as what you are using now!
So far, I have tried Kypermedia 2.4x and 4x, Memorex 2.4x and 4x, Fujifilm 2.4x, Verbatim 2.4x and 4x, and Phillips 2.4x. I also have used the Memorex 2.4x R/W disks.
These various disks were made by CMC Magnetics, Ricoh, and in the case of the Memorex R/W disks - Infodisc.
M ost of the coasters that people make is because of something THEY do and NOT the media. If you get a disk and it will not record at the stated speed, it is not the fault of the disk, it is YOUR recorder. Try recording slower next time. If they STILL will not record, heck just sell them to someone who can use them and try something else! Either that or get a better burner. :-)
