Product Description PC users are running multiple, intense software applications simultaneously, increasing demand on hardware resources. In the office, PC usage has changed from data entry and word processing to e-Commerce, online collaboration and an ever-increasing need for continual security and virus protection. In the home, interests have shifted from low-bandwidth photos and Internet surfing to downloading and viewing high definition videos, as well as advanced photo and video editing. The Intel Core 2 Duo processor was developed to meet all these demands.Built on the innovative Intel Core microarchitecture, the Intel Core 2 Duo desktop processor delivers revolutionary dual-core performance and breakthrough processor energy efficiency. With Intel Wide Dynamic Execution, Intel Smart Memory Access, Intel Advanced Smart Cache and Intel Digital Media Boost, this new processor is designed to do more in less time. Additional features to support enhanced security, virtualization, and 64-bit computing make the Intel Core 2 Duo the most impressive new processor developed for an increasingly multimedia-centered, high-definition world.Design changes in the Intel Core 2 Duo processors that improve performance also increase processor energy efficiency by operating at lower frequencies that require less power to run. Intel Intelligent Power Capability optimizes energy usage of the processor cores by turning on computing functions only when needed. This more energy-efficient processor supports smaller, more capable, and quieter desktop PC to conserve critical power resources.

FAST FAST FAST! Overclockable and stable. June 2, 2007 B. T. Denyer (Midwest, United States) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Wow! This chip completely obliterates my Dual Core Intel D930. I have the E6600 in an MSI P6N SLI Platinum Motherboard, powered by a 500 watt Antec power supply, and cooled by a Cooler Master RR-LCH-P9E1 92mm UFO CPU Cooler. At factory settings it runs VERY cool (between 25-32C). This chip could be an excellent choice for underclocking in a fanless HTPC. I am deeply impressed with how fast this chip is at its factory settings. With the right mobo and cooling, you can overclock this thing up to 3.5 - 4GHz! This is my second Intel build, and i have to say that it is impressively easy, stable and customizable.
THE REVIEWS DON'T LIE! March 27, 2007 Melanie Duke 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Read the reviews everywhere for this CPU. Only reason not to buy this one is because you have the money to waste on the 6800 which is a waste because this one will overclock to that speed easily. The only CON that this CPU has is it is not Quad Core. I have had this for about 2 months now and it does amazing things really fast, but I do video editing and games and I could take advantage of 2 more cores. I have captured video from my camcorder, played Call of Duty UO, downloaded at 200KB/s on bitcomet all at the same time with this CPU and my game was getting over 200 frames per second. It was like nothing was even going on in the back ground. That is how I tested this CPU and it amazed me. I also opened firefox 680 times as fast as I could before I started to see that my 2 GB of memory looked to start failing me. The CPU seemed fine, lol!
Great CPU April 28, 2007 Lantana Al (Lantana, TX USA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Great CPU... fast, stable, dual-core, overclockable. I overclock mine to 3.15 GHz with standard voltages! Intel is back with Core 2 Duo. Sorry AMD, but I hope you stick around because competition is GOOD!
Great Overclocker January 9, 2007 Y. Wang (Oxnard, CA) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I received a week 28B chip when I ordered last Nov. It's running 100% stable at 3.6GHz (50% overclock) with a Tuniq tower 120 and an Abit AW9D-Max. Great bang for your buck.
Great Chip January 16, 2007 W. Loera (Wash DC) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a very nice quiet chip. This chip has a 4 MB cache the E6300 and 6400 have a 2 MB cache. Where the performance really kicks in is in multitasking. Would have given it 5 stars but the stock heat sink was a clumsy to install.
