This package includes a REAL: Orinoco Gold Classic PCMCIA 802.11b Wi-Fi card. The card has an internal 2 dBI antenna and an MC-connector to accept the external antennas. We have upgraded the firmware and programming in these Gold cards with the latest available (ver. 8.72) optimally tuning them for use for range extension, site surveys, or wardriving. These Gold Classic cards have both 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption and using Windows-2000 or Windows XP, no special driver software is required. they also have support for Windows 95, 98 and ME. magnetic antenna The choice of a proper antenna is very important; too strong or too weak an antenna or a model that has too narrow a range will cause you to miss many WiFi hotspots. We have selected an omnidirectional antenna with a Proxim/Orinoco-brand removable weighted desktop base. The antenna can be used on the desktop base, or easily removed and attached to your laptop case as a blade antenna. Velcro is included for you to mount the antenna on your laptop.This antenna has more than 2x the range of the Gold card's internal antenna and unlike the magnetic antennas, it does not require a metal base to operate.. Most importantly the antenna has a wide coverage area to pick up Wi-Fi signals both near and far and for those of you who live in urban areas, the antenna's range includes locating Wi-Fi signals many floors above street level. Sturdy plastic case to help keep your Gold card comfortable when not in use. This case is custom molded specifically for the Orinoco Gold Classic. Free Professional copy of the Backtrack Security GNU/Linux Distribution. This is a linux live CD thats boots from a standard CD-ROM drive. This version has the monitor patch installed by default and has scripts to help beginners to performing site survey and wardriving.
