Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great PSU   January 26, 2008
G. Serra (Santo Domingo, Dom. Rep.)
I bought this PSU to build my own PC, it feeds a Core 2 Quad, some fans, mid-end graphics cards PCI-e and a great ASUS mobo, all these consumption, including monitor and routers won't go beyond the 270 Watts which is great news, knowing this will stand up to 600W. It has a good looking blue light.

5 out of 5 stars Sheer power   March 12, 2008
L. A. Szabo (pennsylvania)
I havent encountered one issue out of this PSU, great functionality for the price. Nothing bad to say realy, its also very quiet compared to similar units. This supply runs an AMD 64x2 4200, 2x2gb OCZ chips, nVidia 6800 xtreme 512mb gpu, and a 10k rpm SATA hard drive..... i would sy this can adequately handle most of your gaming or general computing needs.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but not great   March 24, 2008
S. Hill (Eden Prairie, MN USA)
Pros:
Very high power output
Quiet
Looks nice

Cons:
The 24V rail is extremely loose (it doesn't connect to the main connector directly, so it's on its own in the plug... it's become disconnected twice when I moved my computer over a short distance).
The included power cable is also extremely loose. I accidentally nudged it when I was plugging in my headphones and the power flow was interrupted.

Overall, it's a good power supply, but you may want to take extra measures to secure the 24V rail, and you should definitely buy a separate power cable.

5 out of 5 stars XStreamly Decent Enthusiast PSU   September 29, 2008
D. Otwell
There are very few power supply units that get much better than this one in this price range. It's not because it's OCZ branded or has a blue LED fan but because this is a re-branded Fortron Source Power FSP600-80GLC PSU. OCZ doesn't have their own manufacturing setup so they tend to buy the best products and re-brand them for the retail market.

Pros:
4 12v Virtual Rails Limited to 18amps apiece
2 PCI-E connectors (total of 36amps when combined)
80%+ Efficiency
600watt total load capacity
Over voltage Protection
Over current Protection
Short Circuit Protection
3-Year Replacement Warranty from OCZ

Cons:
One of the main cons is that you will need to figure out how to stuff the cabling that isn't being used somewhere into the case in a tidy fashion since it supplies ample connectors and cable length.
Can only run 2 smaller cards in Crossfire/SLi mode or one large card that needs both PCI-E connectors, but that is a intended limitation, if need more PCI-E connectors then you should get a bigger PSU.

Conclusion:
This is a favorite PSU of many Enthusiast reviewers. If you are in need of something with more oomph it is available but this should fit the bill for most gaming/above budget builds. I've personally used this PSU in several gaming builds and never had an issue. It powers an overclocked Intel Quad-Core, 4GB DDR2 Memory, and ATi HD4870 video card with ease and power to spare. If I were building a budget gaming system this would be my choice since a decent PSU is the cornerstone of system stability and longevity these days.
