Great as an alarm! As a clock, not so much! March 13, 2008 Linda Phillips (Capitola, CA USA) I just purchased this dual alarm clock and it does what I need it to do. It is a tiny dual alarm that runs on batteries and costs very little. It is not a radio, a CD player nor an Ipod-docker. It is simply a dual (2) alarm, clock that takes up very little space on a night table. Here are the minuses: It is very difficult to read what time it is by simply glancing over at it and impossible to do in a dark room without pressing down on the snooze/light bar. Perhaps, if I had it in a different location, I could read the clock more easily in daylight. It also has an alarm that only lasts for a short interval and then repeats itself every 10 minutes. And, that is without pressing the snooze bar. So, if you want it as an alarm, and fall back to sleep easily, give yourself some extra leeway when you set the time on the alarm. I do not need to see the time, as I have a very legible clock on my dresser, but I am used to my previous alarm clock having an easily readable display. If this is going to be the only clock in your room, you may want to rethink it's purchase, but if you have other clocks, that you can read easily, then go for it, as it is a great deal for the price. I cannot tell you if the atomic "radio" setting device works or not as I may have gotten some interference from my laptop when I tried it, but it is not difficult to set manually, once you are familiar with the button arrangement. A final plus: It is far better looking than it appears in the photograph. It is a simple, little, silver oval made of plastic.
Accurate? Yes. Visible? No. June 5, 2008 Rick Shaw (Cowtown, Colorado USA) This was not a bad clock for the first few weeks after I purchased it. The radio controlled atomic time feature is actually kind of cool and the clock was quite accurate. However, it is extremely difficult to see the display unless you are at exactly the correct angle. And then after a month or so the display started to disappear bit by bit. One day the alarm did not go off and I wound up running very late to work. Now after what I consider to be an exceptionally short period of time the display has completely disappeared. Nothing. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any clocks from Sharp in the future based upon my experience with this one.
