Still Going Strong Two Years Later ... December 20, 1999 BobAtGLP (Connecticut USA) 115 out of 115 found this review helpful
I have nothing but good things to say about the BJC-80. I've had it for two years, use it almost daily (mostly for color graphics printing) and it's still going strong. It travels well and is very convenient to use. Black and white print quality is excellent and color print quality is out of this world. I have the battery pack and use infrared with my Thinkpad notebook (something about wireless printing that can really impress a client!). I also use the scanning adapter - works fine on the road, but I prefer a flatbed scanner for most jobs.
A versatile, rugged and economical portable printer July 16, 1999 will@pdmb.com (Cincinnati, Ohio) 107 out of 109 found this review helpful
My company sells Home Inspection software (Palm-Tech Inspector) and many of our inspectors have commented on how much they like the Canon BJC-80. It is light, easy to carry, and has a good page feeder. In our tests, the BJC-80 averages 150-170 pages of full text per mono cartridge in draft mode. Its color graphics are good for a portable printer. Infrared communication is a little slower than its competition, but as a cabled solution it is untouchable. We at Palm-Tech reccomend the BJC-80 to our clients every day.
Great little printer June 14, 2001 37 out of 39 found this review helpful
This is a great little printer. It is a little slow but its quality is great. It is quite small and compact, perfect for a traveling business man. All in all this is a great printer.

I bought this almost 5 years ago and it still works. the ink is too expensive, and the paper doesn't always feed right, but I've gone through a lot of other printers in the same period of time and this is the only one I still have and use. I travel with it and it gets banged around and has been dropped several times and otherwise abused. I was recently looking for a replacement--thinking that there should be something as good that is new and cheaper, but I was disappointed in everything I saw and I'm just going to keep using this one. It prints just fine (with some help) and is reliable.
A waste of money November 26, 2002 25 out of 33 found this review helpful
I bought this printer because I travel a lot. The first time I used it, it printed only half a page. After repeated requests for help, I got it to print --- quit working almost exactly to the date that the warranty ran out. Canon not helpful at all. I am looking for another portable printer but it will not be a Canon.
