Best Diaper For Boys! August 21, 2006 Rosemary A. Bertinelli (Carbondale, PA United States) 64 out of 69 found this review helpful
As a mom of 5 Boys, I offer my experience with disposable diapers. I imagine myself having to wear diapers all the time and look for the best fit which I feel equals the best comfort. I have found that a great fit PLUS often changes equals no or minimal leaks. In order to achieve a great fit you need to start with the correct size. I have found that the numbers on the box mean nothing! YOur babies height and frame size really determine which size your baby needs. It is usually a lot of trial and error but I have always purchased the next size well before my babies were actually the weight stated on the packaging. Sagging, that is, when the crotch hangs down makes for a very uncomfortable diaper. Huggies supremes have the elastic in the back of the diaper which tends to hold the diaper up better, but I have discovered that there is so much padding between the legs that this style simply does not work for boys. The wide stretchy sides that pampers cruisers have make achieving a perfect fit very easy! Although, sometimes I have to roll the back of the diaper back a bit to get that perfect fit. If pampers had a little bit of elastic in the back, they woudl be perfect! Also, the padding inside is trimmer in the crotch area making it not as bulky. I also love the new woven liner. It is very soft. I don't know if it serves any other purpose but I feel better putting someithing soft and somewhat airy on my little baby. I have tried Pampers Baby Dry, Huggies Baby Shaped and Supreme, Luvs, Walmart's Brand, and CVS premium. I am all about saving money where I can but I also want baby to be comfortable. I have found all disposable diapers to be pretty much the same and no matter what brand you use, they all serve their purpose. With all the different types I have tried, I have never disliked any one enough to not use the entire pack. In fact, if I go to purchase diapers and there is an irrestible sale on another brand, I will purchase them and only buy a small pack of cruisers. I mix them up in our changing area and end up using both types. Sometimes I have three and four varieties mixed in there. I do have to admit, the Pampers Cruisers are my first choice and always the ones I am reaching for first. I like the way they smell and especially the way they fit, even more now that Luca is up and Cruising around. They are the only ones I have found to not sag and shift with our toddler's many busy antics and movements. Hope this helps! Rosemary Bertinelli
I guess the "Plus" means "Plus 3 cents" April 26, 2006 S. Faucher 63 out of 76 found this review helpful
So basically Pampers has done it again and released a new "bigger and better" value pack to disguise a price hike. The old pack was 148 diapers for ~$34, or $0.23/diaper. Now it's 160 for ~$42, or $0.26/diaper. It's a good thing cruisers are so much better than any other diaper out there, because I am put off by their deceptive marketing practices. I don't even mind the price hike, I think they are worth it.. it's the way they try to hide it that bothers me. Edit, 5/5/06: They've since reduced the price to 37.87. This is much more in line with the old price, now $0.236/diaper. Glad to see my concerns were addressed!
Pampers Cruisers Diapers July 3, 2006 D. Lengen (boston) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
After trying many brands, Pampers was the only that didn't leak through the night. My son is now 2 1/2 & he still drinks plenty of milk so I use them faithfully. Others Mom's I talked to agreed that Pampers seemed not to leak; for the boys especially. I used the regular Pampers for the 1st year then tried the Cruisers line as they have more give around the waist when my son started moving around a bit more. I hate that they're pricier than all other diapers but saves time & money in washing wet clothes for other diapers that leaked on me incl. Huggies, CVS brands, etc. I just wish Amazon excepted the Mftrs. coupons for Pampers but they do offer free shipping & only reason I order them here is w/the price of gas, a trip to the store is now $4 anyway!!!!
Beware of Allergy January 6, 2007 Sophia Lin (irvine, ca United States) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I love pampers cruisers and swaddlers. Cloth like, very little leakage, no leaking blue gels, and no stuck together gatherings. Unfortunately, I found out that my second child all the sudden became allergic to Pampers; I think it's the new ones with dry weave liners. He started to have red bumps on his bottom everywhere not characteristic of diaper rash (back, crotch, scrotum) and will not go away with diaper rash cream, topical antibiotics nor antifungals. I'm a pediatrician so I was really puzzled. I finally switched him to Huggies and used steroid cream and they went away. I even called Pampers and they told me that the diapers are still the same. ?@$#$ I found out that this is not uncommon with Pampers. So moms beware. If your baby comes down with just red bumps everywhere and will not get better with diaper rash crea or antifungals (nystatin, clotrimazole), it might be an allergic reaction.
Great Deal, TERRIBLE experience September 8, 2006 Elda Munguia (Nuevo Leon, Mexico) 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
I had Huggies for my daughter since she was born and I was very pleased but a friend recommended Cruiser's so I decided to try. The first difference I noticed was the gel, it was like "fluffier" so with a little liquid the gel got bulky. The second was that her skin felt wet all the time. So with this 2 issues price/quantity convenience just vanished because I had to change much more often (like 10 to 12 times a day). The worst was that after the first week of use she had a very bad diaper rash. Since we changed diapers brand and formula at the same time we didn't know for sure what was the cause, and the pediatrician told me that changes in food could cause poop and urine PH change. So I started changing diapers even more frequently and using tons of baby ointment and she got better. The next week the rash appeared again, and again i used a lot of ointment in every change but nothing happened. I changed ointment and rash was getting so bad she cryied on every bowel movement and screamed on every pee, and one day the sores even started to bled. Finally I decided it was too much and went back to huggies, she started to heal an the rash dissappeared within a week.
