Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator Refills December 26, 2007 R. B. Bonner (Los Angeles, CA, USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Great product and it does make my skin look health. My friend calls me smooth skin, nice compliment for a 38-year old. Now my only problem is that Neutrogena does not sell the refills at the local drug store. Refills are only available via Amazon, which is great. Had I known this in the beginning, I would have purchase another microdermabrasion system. Just something to think about in the pursuit of beautiful healthy skin.
Two Packs of Puff and a Replacement Plastic Attachment Piece January 18, 2008 J. Fuchs (Los Angeles, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These are the replacement puffs for the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator. The box comes with two plastic tubes of puffs (enough for 8 weeks at the recommended 3X/week) and replacement plastic snap-on piece which the puffs attach to. The product is great (and reviewed by many on the main page for the product -- suggest checking it out). The puffs are a little perfumy out of the box, but once you've wet them and they've lathered up a bit they aren't too bad, and the scent washes off completely when you rinse your face. I'd give these 5 stars if they were unscented, but it's not that big a deal. I had no problem ordering them from Amazon.
Much cheaper than microdermabrasion! January 23, 2008 Canadian chick 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a much better product than the original resurfacing cream. It's only been two weeks and I already notice a difference. My skin is smoother, fine wrinkles less noticable, and some brown spots are starting to fade. I'll definitely keep on using it!
Very Good Product January 27, 2008 Paula Near (Buffalo, NY USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have been using this product for about 8 weeks and must say I do think this is a very good addition to the Neutrogena line. I did not find the pads overly abrasive. Like anything of this nature you need to experiment to see just how it will effect your skin. The applicator does have two speeds so you can experiment. My skin does seem softer and brighter and I am pleased enough to purchase refill pads. I have had the same problem with the replacement pads not being offered in our local stores. There is an alternative available in some stores which offers a soft sponge applicater that can be used with the applicator that comes with the kit but I did not find this as beneficial as the disposible pads offered with the kit. I will get the original pads here if necessary until our local stores start to stock them. Overall I liked this product and will continue to use it.
Too abrasive on the skin ! Neutrogena needs to offer different types of pads, such as for "senstive skin" and "extra cleansing" January 18, 2008 Anonymous (United States) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Too abrasive on the skin ! Neutrogena needs to offer different types of pads, such as for "senstive skin" and "extra cleansing" for oily skin. With any skin product, you just have to experiment to determine if it is right, NEUTROGENA DOESN'T MAKE THIS DETERMINATION EASY because they only offer one kind of cleansing product for every different skin type. Neutrogena has combined a facial cleanser, exfoliant and astringent into one cleansing pad. It attaches as easily and firmly as velcro upon the vibrating handle that operates at two speeds. THE PROBLEM HOWEVER IS THE CLEANSING PAD IS MORE ABRASIVE than necessary, this is the exfoliating function and no matter how lightly we used the vibrating handle against our skin, it was still harsh. Our skin is rated regular texture by our family doctor and dermatologist and I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS SENSITIVE SKIN because it will likely cause more damage than good. The system shouldn't be used at all on men with stubble, the abrasive fabric of the cleansing pad will become shredded on your beginning beard and take several washings to detach from your face, WE COMPARED THE EXPERIENCE TO DRYING OFF A HUMID AND SWEATY FACE WITH A TOWEL MADE OF CAT HAIR ! The foamy cleanser was adequate enough and the astringent did a decent job of leaving our face feeling tightened BUT IT CREATED BLEMISHES WHERE WE NEVER HAD BEFORE. There are differing schools of thought on how facial car products may cause skin breakouts because you're excreting contaminants and impurities from your pores, WE DISAGREE with this assertion since we already practice a skin care regiment using a name brand exfoliant, cleanser and astringent AND NEVER EXPERIENCED BLEMISHES UNTIL WE STARTED USING THIS NEUTROGENA PRODUCT. Recommendations: Neutrogena should offer different kinds of cleansing pads, a "Sensitive Skin" version, Regular and some kind for stronger and harsh exfoliation, call it "Rough & Tough" or some other macho label akin to the Dinty Moore Mighty Man TV dinner. Most dermatologists know the majority of people that pay extra for products rated for "Sensitive Skin" don't really meet the clinical definition of sensitive skin but will continue to shell out higher prices for the sensitive version versus normal. Also, Neutrogena could offer a mixture of pads in the beginner kit, like 5 of each of the different kinds of pads I suggested to ensure more households will buy one as a "try and buy" experiment for the whole family since now everyone can try it. After and if the family becomes enamored with it, each family member will buy their own along with the different skin pad type that suits them best and it will become as personal of a hygiene item to them as a toothbrush. So, start by making it as convenient as possible for the whole family to try then they'll convince themselves to buy each member their own.
