Amazon.com Product Description Seventh Generation Chlorine-Free Diapers offer soft, cloth-like comfort and feature stretchy leg gathers and closure tabs. In addition to keeping baby dry and reducing the risk of diaper rash, the absorbent polymer in these diapers is non-toxic and non-irritating to baby's sensitive skin. All-Natural Natural Comfort for Your Child Seventh Generation Chlorine-Free Diapers are made with your baby and your environment in mind. The chlorine-free materials and absorbent polymers used in the diapers help keep your baby dry in between changes and through the night. In addition to being effective at keeping baby dry and reducing the risk of diaper rash, studies show that the absorbent polymer used in the diapers is non-toxic and non-irritating to baby's sensitive skin. Hypo-allergenic and offering soft, cloth-like comfort and premium absorbency, these diapers are made of chlorine-free absorbent materials that do not contribute to dioxin pollution. They feature super-stretchy resealable closure tabs and super-stretchy leg gathers that work to provide your baby with a comfortable, safe, close-fitting thin diaper. Why Does Chlorine-Free Matter? Your choice of our chlorine free diapers could help reduce cancer rates. Your choice of chlorine-free diapers helps reduce the amount of dioxin polluting our air, water and soil, and helps make the world a safer, healthier place for your family and generations to come. When chlorine and chlorine derivatives are used in industrial processes (such as bleaching paper and wood pulp), they produce substances called chlorinated hydrocarbons, which persist in the environment, accumulate in animals and people, and can be toxic to human and environmental health. The production of chlorine can also release the toxic metal mercury into the environment. If every household in the U.S. replaced just one 40-count package of conventional diapers with these chlorine-free diapers, we could avoid 133,000 pounds of pollution from entering the environment. About Seventh Generation Seventh Generation offers a complete line of natural household products designed to work as well as their traditional counterparts, but use renewable, non-toxic, and phosphate-free ingredients as often as possible, and are never tested on animals. Seventh Generation products are healthy and safe for the air, the surfaces, the pets, and the people in your home--and for the environment outside of it. Every time you use Seventh Generation products you make a difference by saving natural resources, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment, and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations.

Wanted to Love these December 20, 2007 missjenn (USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I REALLY wanted to love these diapers!! We have been using seventh generation since birth & have had tons of problems. 1st let me say that I like the idea of "chlorine free"; however keep in mind they are still disposable & still contain plastic & gel. Before I really did my research I thought I was doing right by my baby & the environment. Now I realize that in some ways you could make an argument that these may be slightly better for both; however when you consider the drawbacks, in my experience, not really. Next, while I have not had any urine leaks with these I have had TONS of stool leaks (over months!!!). Now, I thought that it was my baby (not user error as I have diapered way more than my share of babies!) until I tried some other diapers (both disposable & cloth), & realized it was the diaper. We have only had only a few non leaking stool diapers, even when I change my baby immediately!!! Now factor in the extra wipes & extra laundry & products needed for stains am I really helping the environment or my baby (not to mention my wallet!!!!!)? I laugh as everyone who sees these on my baby refers to them as the "organic diapers", while a nice image, this is very inaccurate! I am not trying to slam seventh generation as I have respect for the company; I am just really disappointed with this product. I hope they will continue their efforts & maybe redesign these diapers to make them more effective & eco-friendly. Till then; I must abandon this product! Hope you find this helpful!
Terrible Diapers December 21, 2007 Annie Scott (Maryland) 17 out of 23 found this review helpful
I am glad Seventh Generation exists as a company -- that's why I tried these diapers in the first place. And because of the good reviews here and elsewhere. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. First, like one of the other reviewers, I have had multiple stool leaks with these diapers -- a repeated, huge mess that is upsetting to Baby and extremely so to my husband. The baby hasn't had these problems with Pampers. Also, when she wets a lot, the diaper stays wet to her skin, which causes her to FLIP OUT. I am not advocating delaying changing your baby's wet diaper, obviously, but if you're at the Post Office trying to mail Christmas packages, for example, you might prefer to wait til you get back home or at least to the car and not have the Baby wailing the entire time. Besides, can all that wetness on her skin be good for her? I would think not. At bottom (no pun intended), I guess that I feel the environmental effects of these diapers as opposed to others are so uncertain and/or miniscule that I am not willing to upset my entire family and have her mess all over the place. I would not buy these again.
Needs Work May 6, 2008 jt (NoCal, USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
We have used the 7gen diapers in sizes 2-4 for quite sometime and have been pleasantly satisfied with its performance on our older kid (see past review). With our new arrival and 7gen now making the N size we got a case of them instead of Pampers Swaddlers as we did with the last kid. Big mistake! Constant !@#$ leaks! The 7gen just don't fit well. They lack enough elasticity and shape. The fit is really baggy. We all know how newborn poop is and it ain't forgiving like older kid poop. There is no cord cut out. They definitely aren't as soft as Pampers Swaddlers. I want to do what I can to save the environment but having to do extra laundry because of diaper leaks isn't the way. For those apologists that say "all diapers leak, at least you are helping the environment" I don't think have really tried these diapers. ALL diapers don't leak. I haven't met a parent that would stand for a diaper that consistently leaks. We all know it is a terrible experience for us and most importantly the baby. 7gen can make them better especially since the only "green" difference is that they didn't bleach the diapers with chlorine. They still use the same crystalline absorbancy material. Don't let them off the hook. The basic technology is the same the execution is lacking.
Amazing Diapers! December 17, 2007 Sara M (Houston, Texas) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I first bought these diapers for my daughter when she got her first bad diaper rash at about a month old. It was one of those rashes that looked as though her skin had been set on fire and nothing seemed to be helping it. I had tried everything and thought maybe these chlorine free diapers and wipes will do something for her. To my amazement, her diaper rash went away within a day and a half of using the diapers and wipes from Seventh Generation. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself! I think that really speakes volumes about the danger of whatever chemicals being are put into the other diaper brands. These are now the ONLY brand of diapers I will buy for my kids.
Great diapers October 31, 2007 ng 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
These are great diapers...chemically more appealing than any of the mainstream diapers...though I'm not sure how they are totally better for the environment when they get to the landfill...or are they? Are they made of biodegradable materials? Either way, better for the baby b/c of fewer toxins...
