Product Description Minerals in hard water can cause white film deposits and ugly spots to build-up on dishes, glasses, flatware, cookware, and plastic items in your dishwasher. GLASS MAGIC removes cloudy film from your dishes and glasses. GLASS MAGIC works in the pre-wash cycle to help remove the minerals in your water, so your detergent can work at its best to get your dishes sparkling clean and your glasses crystal clear. For those with hard water... use this and get clean dishes! March 6, 2008 N. Porter (Midwest) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was having problems with hard water in my dishwasher, even though I didn't realize it! My dishes were coming out dirty, many of them had a nasty white film on them that I THOUGHT was the dish soap, and I was ready to replace the dishwasher itself. Well, come to find out that after researching all over the internet... I have hard water issues and all these are symptoms of hard water. I saw that Kitchenaid recommended using "Glass Magic" and decided to give it a shot before I tossed the dishwasher. Well, I have to say that my dishes have come out amazingly clean ever since I started putting 1/4 cup of this on the bottom of the dishwasher during each load. I am so glad I gave it a shot. We considered putting in a water softener in our house, but this is MUCH cheaper and much more worthwhile. The boxes are small, so last time I ordered a dozen of them, and I go through about 2 or 3 of them a month with doing one dish load a day on average, so you can save on shipping if you order a whole bunch at once.

Works great - but high in phosphates :( April 9, 2008 orbops (Scottsdale, AZ USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've got hard water that has made all our glasses cloudy. Glass magic cleared it up after a few cycles, but it has 20% phosphorus compared to regular dishwasher detergent having 6% phosphorus. Since phosphorus contributes to algae growth, this product isn't going to help the environment. I've heard that vinegar is a natural way to remove cloudy buildup on glassware, so we'll try that next.
Solved the Spots May 28, 2008 S. Bloom (Warrenton, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was having a horrible time with minerals in the water leaving spots on the dishes and forming a cloudy film on all of the glasses. Put 1/4 cup of Glass Magic on the bottom of the dishwasher and all the spots and buildup disappeared. Even the glasses that had a few months of buildup are crystal clear again. What a GREAT product and so much cheaper than a whole house water filter.
The only thing that works July 15, 2008 theatremom (AZ) This is the only product I've found that works to combat the hard water build up on my glasses in the dishwasher. I tried a handful of other products and my clear glasses kept getting crustier with white mineral deposits. We ran the glasses twice through the dishwasher with glass magic and they came out clear for the first time in 5 years. A little bit each load keeps them that way. Fry's stopped carrying this product so now I can only find it on the internet. It works.
