Super Sweet August 27, 2006 Chocolate Lover (Highlands, Tx United States) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have tried several of the Stevia products and found this one to be awesome. It only takes a couple of drops and my hot teas, cereals, etc., are sweetened perfectly. I even make homemade bread using stevia (powdered, but same brand)and it turns out great. There is no, I repeat, no after-taste with this brand of stevia. It mixes very well in everything and is really easy to use. The microwave does not seem to break down the taste nor does cooking on the stove or in the oven. I can't say enough great things about this wonderful product. I paid almost $14 for a 2-ounce bottle at my local health food store so Amazon is offering a really good price for this item. Update: I have tried several flavors of Stevia and highly recommend the chocolate raspberry, lemon, vanilla cream, english toffee, and unflavored. The lemon is especially great in water and tea. The english toffee and vanilla cream go especially well in coffee. 2/1/08 I just placed an order for four bottles of Stevia and received the package with one of the bottles broken. I promptly called Amazon and explained the situation. They immediately took care of everything by resending my order (at no additional charge), apologizing, and were very kind about the whole thing. I was treated with respect and will continue to use Amazon. Thank you Amazon for being there for me.
Stevia is awesome but it came damaged January 3, 2007 Natalie 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I ordered a pack of two with a book. The bottles are made from glass. Neither the bottle nor the books were wrapped properly so during shipment one of the bottles broke, the liquid spilled out and damaged the book. Then it turned out the bottles were not eligible for return so I couldn't even replace them. Bottom line: Stevia is probably the best natural sweetener out there but order it from some other company that knows how to properly pack the fragile items.
I'm hooked April 7, 2007 Cynthia (Knoxville, TN) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Stevia is a great sugar substitute. Of all the brands I've tried, SweetLeaf has the best taste. I think the liquid is also easier than the powder to use...the powder is so strong that it's easy to add too much and end up with a bitter taste. The price from Amazon is the best I've found. I've also had trouble with Amazon's packing techniques. I once had two bottles shipped in an enormous box with no packing materials -- amazingly, neither bottle broke, but as soon as I picked the box up, I could feel/hear them rolling around and clanging together. I submitted this complaint to Amazon back in December, but based on other reviewers, it's obviously a continuing problem.
Good produce, Bad shipping May 24, 2007 J. Hammond (Wake Forest, NC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm not the first to state this, but I want to add another voice the the crowd. My package arrived with both bottles broken. The liquid damaged another item in the box, but since these are not eligible for return, I am out $24. Bad customer service Amazon. I purchase tons of items here, but I am very frustrated with the lack of customer service this time.
Sweet secret August 11, 2007 M. Downes (Kissimmee, FL USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My best friend, a raw food chef, suggested Stevia to me when she learned I was using Splenda in my baked goods. I ordered two bottles and have only tried it in my coffee so far, replacing one of the two teaspoons of organic sugar I usually put in with 4 drops of Stevia. (The 2 drops per teaspoon of sugar recommendation wasn't sweet enough for me, but I like my coffee very strong so that may have masked the Stevia a little.) The taste is virtually the same. I'll definitely try it in the next batch of muffins I whip up. Others seem to have experienced trouble with the packaging but my two bottles arrived intact, wrapped separately and securely in bubble wrap inside the box. Overall a great big thumbs up on this no-calorie all natural sweetener!
