Coconut Taste/Pineapple After Taste September 22, 2007 H. Hill (Dust Bunny Central Command) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is my favorite drink of the summer when I want something other than water and something more than plain coconut water. I like the taste/aftertaste sensation. It does not seem as sweet as pineapple juice, but it does contain cane juice so it is somewhat sweet. It's great chilled after a long hike or a strenuous workout.
Pleasant new kind of taste July 25, 2007 Couldn't be happier ... (Atlanta, GA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
After trying this the first time, I wasn't sure I would be a repeat drinker. I had just finished a long run and was parched. It definitely quenched my thirst and did not give me that hyped up feeling a lot of the sports drinks do. Because of all the health benefits (and I had a case to use) I kept drinking it. The taste is now something I look forward to and the reason it is so different is because the ingredients are all natural! Great health drink for anytime. Now I am pregnant and enjoy the added potassium and hydration it gives.
Our Favorite Flavor :-)...Refreshing and Energizing August 8, 2007 S. Galiza (NYC) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
My husband and I LOVE this stuff. We love how quickly it absorbs into the body. It just feels so right, doesn't sit or have a weird after taste like most sport drinks. Our body loves this stuff just as much as we do...without all that fructose, sucrose, and whatchamacallit preservative additive stuff in so many products today. I love the plain coconut water as it has less calories and gives me the boost I need. Just check out the ingredient list...coconut water...that's it!!! Gee I sound like a commercial :-/. Anyway, the fact that it's low in calories and offers the potassium and electrolites we need just seals the deal for us. Oh the other thing I noticed when comparing products is vitacoco uses ACTUAL fruit puree unlike the other brand that uses fruit essence...what is fruit "essence" anyway??? And if you've never had coconut water, it doesn't taste like cococut meat. It's more earthy and subtle. And if you're squimish on taste and picky, I recommend my husband's favorite flavor, Pineapple. That one is coconut water with pineapple and coconut meat puree...it tastes like a refreshing PinaColda :-). He absolutely LOVES it...I do too, but it has a little more calories (110 cal) and a little fat (2.5g), whereas the plain coconut water has only 60cal and 0 fat, yes, zero :-). BTW, my husband is an avid runner who logs around 45+ miles a week and is always looking for a good drink to rehydrate and recoop after a long run. Since this stuff isn't cheap, around $1.50 a shot, he saves it for his longest runs and drinks nestle quick chocolate skim milk for his shorter runs...but the coconut water is by far his favorite treat. Besure to chill it before drinking...not very refreshing warm :-p. For the reviewer who didn't like it, feel free to send your case to us, we'll drink it :-).
Can I give it 6 stars? August 25, 2007 imhereandthere (new england, usa) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Awesome, plain and simple! Fresh taste, natural and oh so refreshing. I adore this stuff.
Lots of pulp and too sweet November 29, 2007 M. DELIA (Plainview, NY United States) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have to use a strainer to remove the pulp. I'm not sure if I just received a bad batch. The Zico coconut water with Mango doesn't have pulp. I'm not sure if the pulp is coconut or pineapple. Either way it looks odd. The taste is okay if you like pineapple juice that's very sweet.
