Effective, Great-smelling Dish Soap October 24, 2005 gliondar 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I really like Earth Friendly's almond-scented dish soap. It has a very pleasant scent that's a nice change from the typical citrus or floral scented soaps, and it is a very effective cleanser. As advertised, a little does go a long way, but you may find yourself using more than necessary when you first begin to use this product, since it does not produce the abundant amount of suds you are likely used to with other more mainstream dish soaps. Don't let the lack of fluffy suds fool you--I've found this soap to be comparable to other brands in terms of cutting grease. Most of all I appreciate the fact that this natural product is biodegradable and more environmentally friendly than more mainstream brands.
Truly hypoallergenic - i.e. not allergenic. Powerful cleaning! Nice subtle scent. November 20, 2007 cynthia_colorado (Rocky Mountains) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My family has problems with skin sensitivities and allergies. Other brands, such as Dawn, would sometimes give us itchy rashes. So we tried this, and were pleasantly surprised. We are not fanatical about earth-friendly or natural products, but are becoming converts after trying this. We were worried that it would not clean well. However, it has worked great. This cleans well, including greasy pots, pans; and greasy plastic too. In comparison, Dawn is only a tiny bit better at handling grease; but this Dishmate product is almost as good at cleaning, yet it seems gentle on my hands. No rashes in the 3+ years we have been using it. And better for the environment. I have a sensitive nose, and normally detest air fresheners and flowery perfumes. This has a mild, subtle scent of natural almond and is not perfume-y. The bottle purchased 1-2 years ago seemed to have a stronger almond scent. The bottle purchased recently has such a mild scent, I can barely smell it. I actually miss the stronger almond scent. It is also available in pear scent, and perhaps others. And it is available in single bottles of course, not just the bulk carton of 12 as listed here. A little goes a long way. It doesn't create as much foamy bubble-suds as some brands; so at first glance you might mistakenly think you are getting a less-concentrated watered-down product. However, in terms of cleaning power, it seems to be about as equally concentrated as the well-known heavily-advertised brands.

This is hands down my favorite dish soap. The stuff smells fantastic, is cruelty-free, environmentally safe, plus something else people really don't seem to think about much: non-toxic. I challenge you: try this product, read the ingredients, then go to your local supermarket and look at the stuff that's on the shelves there. You can't pronounce most of the ingredients, you don't know what they are, and if you smell the stuff, you know darned well you shouldn't be ingesting it or getting it on your skin. The days of having to compromise cleaning ability, style, smell, whatever your standards are in order to choose the eco-friendly, cruelty-free products are over and this product is one example of the proof. One you try it, you'll never buy that P&G, Unilever, etc... garbage again! You and your loved ones will be better off for it, too. The other products this company makes are great too, this is just my favorite one.
wonderful product October 12, 2007 C. Randak 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We have used this dish cleaner for two years at our mountain cabin because we have a septic tank; we want biodegradable, "green" products near the river. I like it so much I now use it for our home use. Plenty of "sudsing"; good on grease. and I like the smell. Great item.

I've really enjoyed using this product (for as much as you can enjoy doing the dishes) I started using it after reading Organic Housekeeping by Ellen Sandbeck. Since I was using a castile soap (Dr. Bronners) for hands and body, I switched to this product in the shower as well and just added pure essentials oils for fragrance.
