Amazon.com Product Description Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent is powerful enough to get your dishes sparkling clean, yet gentle on your hands and the Earth. Made completely free of any irritating or harmful scents, this dish detergent is made with the well-being of you and the Earth in mind. Completely Natural Cleaning Power for Your Dishes Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent is tough on dirt and grease while being completely free of chlorine, ammonia, strong acids, and petroleum-based ingredients. This biodegradable, non-toxic dish detergent is made from a combination of naturally derived cleaning agents (coconut-based surfactants) and natural whole plant essences that will clean your dishes without leaving any harmful residues behind. Non-toxic, biodegradable, hypo-allergenic, Kosher-certified and phosphate-free, this gently scented Seventh Generation Dish Detergent is safe for septic and gray water systems and has never been tested on animals. Why Clean Naturally? Unlike many conventional dish detergents, the Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent does not create unpleasant fumes, will not leave harmful residues, and is safer for the environment. Plant-derived cleaners are made from renewable resources rather than from petroleum. Studies show that making household cleaners from plant-derived materials uses less energy than making the same cleaners from petroleum. Using less energy helps reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. If every household in the U.S. replaced just one 25-ounce bottle of petroleum based dishwashing liquid with this plant-derived product, we could save 86,000 barrels of oil--enough to heat and cool 4,900 U.S. homes for a year! Free & Clear of Fragrances--Because You Want it That Way Our sense of smell is powerful and evocative. Experiencing a scent unfold can transform our mood, transport us to distant places, or connect us through a shared experience. But many people are sensitive to fragrances or dyes, or prefer unscented products. This Free & Clear Dish detergent is made entirely without fragrances. Many conventional products call their products "free," but in fact mask the smell of their surfactants (detergents) with added fragrances. Seventh Generation products are truly free and clear of added fragrances, and have been confirmed to be hypo-allergenic through independent testing. About Seventh Generation Seventh Generation offers a complete line of natural household products designed to work as well as their traditional counterparts, but use renewable, non-toxic, phosphate-free, and biodegradable ingredients as often as possible, and are never tested on animals. Seventh Generation products are healthy and safe for the air, the surfaces, the pets, and the people in your home--and for the environment outside of it. Every time you use Seventh Generation products you make a difference by saving natural resources, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment, and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations.

Good Stuff March 21, 2006 N. Snook (NJ (USA)) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Overall, it is a pretty good dishwashing liquid. It doesnt give me dishpan hands and it smells neutral, I never notice anything. I have many many many allergies to common stuff, so it was nice to find something that I could use and not sneeze or get a rash. All the "natural" Ivory, etc. soaps are just another name for a new smell that sounds better but still makes me allergic but costs more. It is a little odd, but I use this as a shampoo as well. I am allergic to every shampoo I've tried (over 60+) and seen my 4th dermatologist (allergy specialist in NY recently) who was not able to suggest anything else. I use an off the shelf conditioner (Earth Science) for people with allergies. While I dont value this aspect highly, it does make me feel good to use such a "earth focused" product. NOTE: I dont think gets rid of grease like regular $1 Ajax, but it is much better than most of the other alternatives. At least this has suds, and will cut the grease eventually.
Excellent product, will stick with this one! May 4, 2006 Tranquilityseeker (Northeast USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased this last year for the first time. I am thrilled to no longer have chafed hands from washing dishes, and no sopay residue taste on my dishes as with some of the cheaper dish liquids. After finding a great product like this, I have no plans to EVER go back to the others, like Palmolive which I used for many years because it is a bit softer on the hands. Just knowing how much better this product is for the environment and having a less toxic product in my home & around my children is a big relief! As for greasy dishes, I always noticed a problem in the past when I bought a cheaper (petroleum based) brand on occasion. Not so with Seventh Generation! Maybe it's because I let the dishes soak for a few minutes in the sink, but ever since I first purchased this product I have not noticed a single time where the grease won't come off just as easily as with Palmolive or other brands. This product is so gentle I also use it in my kitchen hand soap dispenser, diluted with about half water, for washing hands, too. I highly recommend this product.
Great fragrance free dish soap March 20, 2007 Al (Seattle WA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've used this product on everything from apples to baby formula bottles. It gets rid of the dirty stuff and rinses clean. The four star rating is because the hydrogen peroxide in the product sucks all the moisture out of my hands. Occasional washing is all right, but I would never do a full load without wearing gloves.
Poor packaging May 17, 2006 woobie (el paso, tx) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have tried to order this product twice now and I cannot accept the box when it arrives because the bottle tops are so flimsy that they break off and the detergent spills all over the boxes.
I love this stuff! July 12, 2006 L. Anderson (Texas, USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have had a terrible time trying to find a truly fragrance free dish soap. Most have, at the very least, masking fragrances. This soap is utterly fragrance free, which is important to me as I am chemically sensitive. It is a marvel, particularly when compared to other 'sensitive' dish soaps, which aren't effective and produce little or no sudsing action. This soap is sudsy and very effective at cleaning dishes. I have not been able to use Dawn and other commercial dish soaps that claim to cut grease so I really cannot make that comparison. But when put head-to-head against other 'sensitive' dish soaps, Seventh Generation is the clear winner (not to mention competitively priced).
