Best budget meal for one or two July 31, 2006 Colleen W-M (NYC, NY) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
Tasty Bite Punjab Eggplant is delicious and spicy. Try adding a bit of plain yogurt. Serve with rice or bread (nan or pita work well) and you have a brilliant meal that costs only a few dollars. This is true of all of the Tasty Bite Indian Entrees. I wish the Tasty Bite Thai Meals came as Entrees (i.e. without the rice or noodles) so I could streach them out into a big meal by adding my own rice or noodles. Tasty Bite Entrees are really easy to keep on hand, since they don't have to be refrigerated. Buying in bulk works well for these.
Super tasty, but kind of a small meal August 22, 2006 Luvthesun (San Diego, CA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I ordered several Tasty Bite items and they were all great, and very convenient to take to work since they do not need refridgeration. The eggplant in particular was delicious, just a hint of spice. However, it does not come with rice, which helps make it a more filling meal.
Love it Love it Love it June 8, 2007 Queen Robinhood (New York) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
What can I say, I just love this product. Ideally for ME I would like it to be a little bit more tomato-ey and a tad less spicy, but when I taste it I remind myself that it is truly more authentic in its current state and I can taste the eggplant more despite the spiciness as I've gotten used to it. Sometimes I just eat it as is without heating it up, which also lessens the spiciness level. But it is SO good, I just ordered one of the vegetables packets and I doubt it can be as great as this one but it's worth a try. It has a comforting smooshy testure to it, with bits of well-cooked onions intertwined in it.
Taste ok, a bit too mushy January 5, 2007 BoilerUp 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
It tastes ok, a bit too mushy (can't make out the eggplant). Also beware of the high saturated fat (14-15%).
The best Tasty Bite May 5, 2007 Mr. Picky (NYC) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the best of the Tasty Bite Indian foil-pack dishes. It is moderately spicy and has a wonderful flavor of eggplant. It is a bit oily, like some Indian foods can be at times. The texture is sortof creamy/lumpy because of the eggplant seeds. It is wonderful with a little microwaved frozen broccoli added to bulk up the meal, along with rice and some frozen naan. Yum! This same item is sold camouflaged at Trader Joe's.
