Really great razor May 16, 2007 Retired Guy (Indiana) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
I have now used the razor for about 3 weeks and am very satisfied with it. I bought a Braun first, and stopped using it after about two weeks, because of poor workmanship and poor shaves. I then ordered this razor and wish I had gotten it to begin with. I think this is probably the best razor I have owned in over 55 years of shaving (I am 72 years old).
Very Pleased February 6, 2007 M. Glosser (Everett, WA United States) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I've purchased many Remington products over the years, so I'm familiar with the brand and quality. This shaver is no exception. If you want bells and whistles...keep looking. I wanted a basic, nothing fancy, twin bladed shaver with trimmer and that's what I got. It does the job without a lot of fuss and a good price. This would make a great 'first shaver' for a young fella.
Should have bought this first !! October 26, 2007 Lance Rivers (Palmer, MA USA) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought a Wahl first. NOT a good buy. This shaver works great. It's is a little loud but it shaves MUCH better than the Wahl and the Norelco I had. I have NO problem with the noise. I shave every other day because of a sensitive skin and this works great!! Also I'm on heavy blood thinners and can get cut at all. This shaver works best for me.
Norelco vs. Remington: Easy call for latter-day Lancelots June 24, 2008 Samuel Chell (Kenosha,, WI United States) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
Unlike some previous reviewers comparing the two shavers, I haven't experienced hair-pulling or face-cutting problems with the Norelco, but the machine's quiet, unlabored operation frequently caused me to wonder if it was even running. More importantly, it made shaving around a beard too much of a "guessing game." Especially if you try to maintain a consistent, even line between beard and skin at the neck, the Norelco leads to frustration--the line is constantly moving lower while becoming increasingly irregular. Put simply, this Remington is the one to get if your face is of a hirsute nature. (Braun once won my allegiance--until I added up the cost of continually replacing those delicate, ripped foils). The Remington MS2-390 is not only quite rugged but ergonomic, inexpensive, and darned effective. As for the "noise" that many complain about, I've come to regard it as an all-business wake-up call, a high-pitched buzz of excitement confirming that the day's first task is under way--not to mention well in hand. To extend the metaphor, the Norelco is a cumbersome, bloated bomber from the German Luftewaffe whereas the Remington is a British RAF Spitfire which, in the hands of a skilled pilot, can fly circles around any of the balky Teutonic Titans. Or, if you prefer, the Norelco is the feminine passive Grail; the Remington the male active Lance. Norelco purrs; Remington rocks.
Everything you want - Nothing you don't! August 31, 2007 Larry Reid (Long Beach, CA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I started out using Remingtons years ago. I liked my first one, and I like this one. I have tried many others over the years, and despite all their claims, they do not do the things that count; and that is to give you a good, clean, fast shave. Most of them just grind the whiskers into powder over a period of many minutes. This one if a real little "chopper."
