Great pie plate! January 5, 2005 carolyn (Canal Winchester, OH) 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
This is a great little basic pie plate, especially if you're starting out in a new kitchen. It's also great for heating up fish too in the microwave and baking it in the oven for one or two people. It's not a deep dish pie plate and certainly, don't take it from the fridge and put it in the oven. Pyrex is notorious for their exploding dishes. That said, for what it is price-wise, you'll get a good dish that's very versatile but works well too. It scratches rather easily so be careful with clean up and cutting too. Nice plate - I've had mine for 15 years and it's still going strong.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2VC1IHWQ04XJ8 Pyrex pie plates are wonderful . The aluminum plates can't compare. Baking a pie in a Pyrex dish results in pie that is cooked uniformly, through and through. And you can check the color of the crust as it bakes. A great plate that always be popular.
I could not make my apples pies without this ! January 10, 2008 The Legend Of Megadon (USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I use this to make dutch apple pie. It's deep and the edges are raised verses a traditional pie dish, this keeps the topping from falling off when taking the pie to the oven. Easy to clean too, I rinse it out and pop it in the dishwasher. I have 3 of them there are very handy espically around the holidays.
Excellent value, but not perfectly designed December 29, 2006 S. Khalsa (San Francisco, CA United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is an excellent pie pan considering how inexpensive it is (currenly $3.20) but I would prefer the handles be larger. The handles are tiny, and can be difficult to hold securely. I did have one explode on me; I took a pie out of the oven and placed it on the stove, and not much later the whole pan broke shooting fragments of glass against my body and around the kitchen. I didn't get cut, so it was just surprising and inconvenient. I continue to use these since they're so cheap... I just make sure to put them on cooling racks.

I purchased 24 of these pie plates for pecan pie Christmas gifts. What a big hit I made with this pie plate. It is economical, it is attractive, and it is deep enough to take any filling recipe without spillage. Very utilitarian!+++++
