Great diapers for babies w/sensitive skin July 2, 2008 Annie (Long Beach, CA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
We have been using Seventh Generation Diapers (started w/ size 4, and now in size 5) since my daughter was 16 mos old (she's now 27 mos old), and these have been the best diapers for her sensitive, and diaper rash prone skin. I love the feel of these diapers and they hold a lot. We switched from Pampers Cruisers to these diapers and have never looked back.
I am not happy about the new reformulated diapers, and that they made the package have 8 less diapers, and the gel material seems to be a little more slippery than it was before. Since we hopefully have less than six mos. left of diapers I don't plan on going diaper hunting again, but messing with something that isn't necessarily broken really irritates me.
Amazing Diapers! December 17, 2007 Sara M (Houston, Texas) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I first bought these diapers for my daughter when she got her first bad diaper rash at about a month old. It was one of those rashes that looked as though her skin had been set on fire and nothing seemed to be helping it. I had tried everything and thought maybe these chlorine free diapers and wipes will do something for her. To my amazement, her diaper rash went away within a day and a half of using the diapers and wipes from Seventh Generation. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself! I think that really speakes volumes about the danger of whatever chemicals being are put into the other diaper brands. These are now the ONLY brand of diapers I will buy for my kids.
like these diapers! February 3, 2008 Akratt (Chicago, IL, USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
These diapers have worked really well for us with our newborn. They fit her well and are very absorbent. Plus, they are better for the environment so that is a big bonus.
Needs Work May 6, 2008 jt (NoCal, USA) 32 out of 38 found this review helpful
We have used the 7gen diapers in sizes 2-4 for quite sometime and have been pleasantly satisfied with its performance on our older kid (see past review). With our new arrival and 7gen now making the N size we got a case of them instead of Pampers Swaddlers as we did with the last kid. Big mistake! Constant !@#$ leaks! The 7gen just don't fit well. They lack enough elasticity and shape. The fit is really baggy. We all know how newborn poop is and it ain't forgiving like older kid poop. There is no cord cut out. They definitely aren't as soft as Pampers Swaddlers. I want to do what I can to save the environment but having to do extra laundry because of diaper leaks isn't the way. For those apologists that say "all diapers leak, at least you are helping the environment" I don't think have really tried these diapers. ALL diapers don't leak. I haven't met a parent that would stand for a diaper that consistently leaks. We all know it is a terrible experience for us and most importantly the baby. 7gen can make them better especially since the only "green" difference is that they didn't bleach the diapers with chlorine. They still use the same crystalline absorbancy material. Don't let them off the hook. The basic technology is the same the execution is lacking.
Great company, but stage 6 dipes are no good! June 24, 2008 JohnnyC (Alexandria, VA (USA)) 45 out of 56 found this review helpful
Unfortunately, I have to give these only two stars. It would be one, but the fact that Seventh Generation is a great company overall earns them one bonus star.
I wrote a glowing review for the Stage 1 diapers (check it out and vote it helpful if you like it!). I also found stages 2-4 to be quite good.
But around Stage 5, leakage started becoming a big problem. The bigger the baby got, and the more he started to pee, the more these dipes started leaking! :-(
We're potty training our 28-month old now, so he generally doesn't wear diapers during the day, but he does at night. He cannot wear these overnight, or he will wake up soaked and uncomfortable in the morning. In contrast, he is always dry and comfortable with equivalent Pampers diapers. So that's why the two stars; there are brands out there that keep the baby dry all night, and 7th Generation stage 6 simply doesn't.
I think if your child is still wearing diapers all day, and you change them frequently, these could be a good buy. But I would strongly recommend against trying to use these overnight.
Do buy other 7th Generation products though! The paper towels, tissues, dish soap, laundry soap, and napkins are all great!
