Didn't think badger bristles would make a difference June 7, 2007 C. W. Simpson (North Carolina) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
But they really do. I had a boar's hair brush before this, and the badger bristles really are far superior. It takes a lot less soap to make a good lather with the badger. If you're a brush user, definitely give it a try.
sharp quills that don't fall out January 20, 2007 foobah (Los Angeles, CA USA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
This brush is serviceable. I can soap it up and get the soap to my face with it. The quills are noticeably sharp which is a problem with less expensive brushes, but they don't fall out which is another problem with some less expensive ones. I had left my brush of many years behind at a hotel and was in a hurry to get a replacement -- it's the only way I've shaved for many years. Delivery on this one was fast, and I'm still using it. One can never be sure ordering another more expensive one online that it, too, won't have sharp quills *sigh*
Foamy Goodness May 21, 2007 Creeb 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've had no trouble at all with this brush in the month or so since purchase. Does exactly what I want it to do; no complaints. I have no idea what a brush costing X multiples would offer that this brush doesn't, other than vanity frills like an ivory handle or some such.
Does the job, great price. One minor item.. see below: July 11, 2008 JoelNale (Clark, NJ) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Badger hair shaving brushes are not the cheapest items in the world. Not to mention usually you get what you pay for; however I have to say that this brush bucks that trend. The brush does the job at a price MUCH better than the competitors. My one minor issue: -the first brush I bought repeatedly would lose hairs each time I used it. I hoped it would stop at some point but this went on for a month or so. In a strange sort of luck, I managed to leave the brush behind on a business trip and had to purchase a new one. The new brush works like a charm. In a nutshell, I would not hesitate, if you need a shaving brush and do NOT want to pay an arm and a leg then this is the brush for you. On a side note, if you are considering this brush you should also consider (if you have not already) switching to a Safety Razor rather than the economy razors you find in the supermarket. My shaving experience and outcome has changed considerably as a result of using this brush as well as the safety razor. My recommendation for a safety razor: Merkur Classic Safety Razor, Straight - #178 As far as shaving soap and blades goes: check out eBay as well as Amazon
good value April 3, 2007 M. Brune 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The finer, softer bristles of badger hair do make a difference. The brush makes great lather, feels good on the face. I doubt a $50+ British brush is any better.
