Folgers IS the best cup! March 8, 2007 Matthew G. Sherwin 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
I was working in a local supermarket one day when I noticed the housewives started to enter in droves; and they practically flew en masse into the aisle where the coffee was stocked. They came out with canisters of Folgers in their shopping carts. A few customers even took eight or nine containers of it! I asked these customers about Folgers and they all swore that it was the best coffee out there. I then tried it myself--and wow, they sure were right! This coffee can be made in any coffee pot or coffee maker and the "AromaSeal" helps to keep the ground coffee fresh inside the canister. The coffee is consistently tasteful and it gives you a great pick-me-up in the morning. The only ingredient is 100% pure coffee although Folgers doesn't say where the beans were grown to make the coffee. The directions are simple enough: Use one tablespoon of Folger's ground coffee to make one 6 fluid ounce serving of coffee. Folgers adds correctly that you should refrigerate the canister after you open it; but I have left the canister outside on my kitchen countertop and it still tastes fine. If you're lucky enough to catch a great sale on this terrific coffee I would suggest that you stock up. You can even put the unused canisters in your freezer for up to several months, maybe even a year. It will stay fresh and taste every bit as good after you let it defrost. Only one cautionary note that you probably already figured anyway--don't drink this if you are sensitive to caffeine. Consult your doctor if your stomach is sensitive to anything that contains caffeine before you drink this coffee. Folgers also makes a decaffeinated brand of coffee that is quite good. Folgers also makes this coffee at what they call different "roast levels," or what we would probably call "strengths." You can choose from mild, medium, medium-dark and dark. I usually see just medium and medium-dark on the grocer's shelf, however. All in all, Folgers is the very best coffee on my grocer's shelf and it remains an extremely popular brand of coffee. Buy some and try it today--you won't be disappointed!
Folger's in my cup tra la la February 25, 2008 Judy K. Polhemus (Shreveport, LA) 13 out of 24 found this review helpful
"The best thing about waking up is Folger's in my cup!" Still waiting to sing those words. I'm a walking commercial, oh yes, I am! Totally, utterly believe in my Folger's first thing in the morning. Ah, the wake up smell. The sound of the scoop entering that rich brown aroma kingdom, grounds sifting off the sides, emitting that warm taste to come. The little lawnmower sound of the percolation, the heady aroma of hot water meeting the grounds, almost salacious in its verve. Can't wait. Yes, you can. Can't wait. Yes, you can. At last, bring that pot to cup, tip and pour, release steam, wafting minuscule droplets of actual coffee in the air, heading to my sensate nose. Add cream, add sugar, ah the marriage of cream and sugar with a big boy flavor. The first sip. I am palpitating with desire by now. My brain, my taste buds, my sensual center yearn for it. At last, cup meets lips. Open, sip, ah..... Folger's in my cup, in my belly, in my blood stream, in my brain! Time to get ready for work. Another day, another dollar.
Only $5.99 per can at my local store February 20, 2008 Linda Smiles (Oak Park, IL) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The coffee is good, it's nice to have it delivered to the door but Amazon's price is way too high. This exact can is under 6 dollars at my local store and is on special at Walgreens for 5.99. Looking back at my history I can see the increase in Amazon Grocery prices.
Good coffee, bad price July 7, 2008 D. Jones (Michigan) This is the classic roast of Folger's, not the weaker, cheaper blends that some places offer for $5-6/can. And pay attention to the can size. This is the full-sized, 39-ounce can. Some of the cans hold less coffee, but you can't always tell from the pictures. When Folger's was offering a $10 coupon for this three-pack and I got free shipping, it was a decent buy, averaging just over $7 per can. The regular price per can is $8/can around us out in the country, and it almost never goes on sale. But at the regular price of more than $10 per can, even free shipping can't help. I recommend this only if you can get a discount or use a coupon.
