Amazon.com If you're building decks or hanging drywall, this driver makes the job a whole lot easier. A no-load speed of 0 to 900 rpm and 0 to 2,900 rpm couples with a maximum torque of 180 inch-pounds for serious fastener driving. All of DeWalt's screwdriversthis one includedhave a "dead" front spindle. The clutches are held apart by light spring pressure so the drilling clutch can rotate without involving the driven clutch and accessory. Just apply pressure to engage the clutch and you're driving. We really like the depth setter on this driver; you just turn the collar and precise adjustments are made. Each "click" of the collar is a change of .007 inch, and a full revolution changes your depth setting .083 inch. Changing the bit holder is just a little sticky, but if you grasp the bit holder with pliers, it's quick and easy. There's a neat groove designed into the body of the tool, and we followed DeWalt's advice for applying a little more pressure to a driving job. Instead of holding it like a regular drill, slide your thumb and index finger along the side of the tool near the top and squeeze the trigger with your middle and ring fingers. Awesome!--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

A great cordless from DeWalt... again! December 13, 2005 HG fan (wyoming) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Works fantastic! No cord to dance around! Always being one to check/read customer reviews, for some years now I have gone with DeWalt 18v tools. Unlike some other brands that have some outstanding cordless tools and some not so good tools in their lines, DeWalt almost always gets good marks. So far, I have not been disappointed in either quality or performance as expected. DeWalt, as usual, has another cordless winner here. Having the same tool Mfg'r also means you can share the batteries and chargers. A couple of battery packs will drive drywall screws all day long. Owning several DeWalt 18v tools that were supplied with batteries and chargers, I did not need additional batteries; or chargers; or the kit boxes, so I opted to purchase the bare tool from one of Amazon's third party sellers, Max Tools, (DeWalt DC520B) for a substantial savings. The DC520KA is fast and efficient for driving screws. I have bad shoulders now so it is a bit heavy for overhead work for me (I use a DeWalt corded model), but certainly managable if you are an average homeowner or a pro and only want to use one drywall gun. The gun is pricey, but thats DeWalt for you and you tend to get what you pay for. If you're a homeowner that may do some serious drywalling once or twice in your lifetime, this package may be too expensive for your needs and a simple, cheaper corded model may be the way to go if $ is an issue. (See my review of the corded DeWalt DW272 screw gun as a possible option.)

Everyday use on remidels. holds up great. would not use on large amounts of boards.
Works well, bad ergonomics December 11, 2006 Jason Ledyard (Cincinnati, OH United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I must start by saying I'm a big fan of the DeWalt 18v line. There isn't much they make that I don't have. When I saw this was available, I thought it would be a great addition to the tool bag. That said, it's just too heavy for all day use. They batteries last, but my arm doesn't. I can't say for sure if it's the weight of the tool or the balance, but either way, it doesn't work well for me for all day use. It is a good tool for a few screws here or there. The motor is plenty powerful and the depth / clutch works well. I use it when I'm supervising a crew and am needed all over a job site. If I'm working in one location, I go with a traditional high-speed corded gun.
