Amazon.com Product Description Combining stylish looks with power sport timing and heart rate monitoring features, this mid-sized Timex Digital Fitness watch (model T5J031) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to track your avareage heart rate and pre-set target heart rate zones with data for time spent within that zone and alarms. It can also display data for calories burned and offers a recovery timer that measures your heart rate after a timed recovery during or after your workout. Sport timing features include: - 100-hour chronograph with lap and split, either in large digits
- 27-lap memory with average heart rate per laps
- 100-hour countdown timer
- Alarm with 5-minute backup
- Month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time
- 3.5-year battery life
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Exceeds Expectations February 7, 2008 Chuck (Columbus, Ohio USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I purchased this watch to replace an older Polar heart rate monitor with dead batteries in the chest strap and the monitor. The design of that product required me to send both units in for replacement by a Polar service center. The cost was nearly as much as the cost of this timex heart rate monitor. I am so pleased with this product. The instructon manual was clearly written and easy to understand. There are just enough functions for me without loading the product up with things I will never use. That makes using it simple and I can remember how to use it without having to refresh my memory by repeatedly rereading the manual. The monitor is an excellent watch when not using the heart rate features. Best of all I can change the batteries myself when the time comes without sending the thing off in the mail to a service center. On top of all that the price was reasonable. This is one of those few purchases that exceeded my expectations because everything that it does, it does a little bit better than I had hoped for.
Very nice... good little training tool and toy March 4, 2008 Vertigo 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought this HRM to help me as I began a training program, and decided on this one rather than a Polar monitor because it was cheaper and because it was a Timex. It was easy to use out of the box (I ran later that day); I set the time and after fiddling a little with the buttons I was able to use the timer and HRM functions. The chest strap is snug and comfortable; the watch is unisex but for women with tiny wrists it might be a bit too loose; I myself wear it the tightest possible setting. Aesthetically it looks great. It's not something that I personally would go around wearing all the time, but it's easy to read and the buttons are easy to use. The indigo is not ideal for when I'm running on the street in the evening since it lights up the numbers rather than the whole face of the watch, but this is a tiny issue. Overall, fantastic product, and I'm so glad that something this well-featured is availiable at such a competitive price from Timex.
Disappointed, repeat failure October 13, 2007 S Johnson (Kennewick, WA USA) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is the second Timex Heart Rate monitor watch that I purchased in a 3-month period. The screen of the first watch froze. This watch stopped communicating with the transmitter. I have friends with Timex monitors that work fine, but I have had bad luck, and plan to switch to a different brand. On the plus side, the watch was easy to set up and the directions are clearly written.
Great Heart Rate Monitor November 13, 2007 Jake Alexander 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I found this model to be extremely easy to use and comfortable to wear. I never take it off my wrist. When I'm not exercising, and don't need the heart rate monitor feature, it's a great fully functional sport watch. I highly recommend this model for anyone looking for an easy to use heart rate monitor.
Very Very good product July 3, 2008 Krishna K. Peri 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Friends, I did lot of research before purchasing this product. And i was not disappointed. This is a very good product. I am using this watch as regular watch and put on the chest strap while exercising. This is a exceptional product. I tried the strapless product in walmart and it really scared me. I would suggest this product to anybody who is looking for heartrate monitor. Thanks, Krishna Peri
