Having an enormous amount of love for my six cats, once I got pregnant giving them away was not an option. After checking every single playpen I believed was on the market, including the ones direct from the manufacturer that had the built in canopys, I decided on the Portable Playard Tent to go above my playard. This is the best item ever made. This is a must for cat owners or anyone with a small pet that could jump into a playard. The dome top provides plenty of room and great visibility for me anywhere in the house. I was not forced to choose from the two canopy style playards only. I was able to choose the playard that I wanted to have and still have the ability to enclose it. I can now feel free to nap when baby does without the worry of waking up to a baby surrounded by cats, or backyard barbaques filled with bugs! This item is truly a dream come true in every sense of the word. The mesh white color fits into any color scheme and allows easy access to baby. Note: If you have a hard time with this items availability online, go to your local Babiesrus, it's worth your time and effort to get this item.

After going through two of the tents that came with our playard, I finally pulled this one (both items were registry gifts) out of the closet and put it together.Negatives:
- Did not fit over the bassinet insert for the playard since the tent snaps on all the way around. However, I view this as a problem with the playard design, not the tent! - Mesh has torn slightly after more than two months of use -- easily repaired with needle and thread. - Only zips open on one side. - Clips for the sides are stiff, which means they can cause minor finger pinches to adults during assembly. Positives: - Snaps all the way around sturdily so cats can't crawl up underneath the edges and into the playard when baby is in there. - Sturdy pole construction, much thicker than other tents, stands up to the weight of two LARGE cats. - Fairly easy to assemble -- it took me about a half hour. A trick to getting the bowed poles into the sleeves: set one end of the already threaded pole against the floor and push down to bend it so that it's easier to slip the other end into the sleeve. - Easy to wash -- can just wipe it down with a baby wipe or disassemble and toss into the wash. - Converts to a cabana so you can use it around the house, or in the yard. - My cats have yet to break it or get inside the playard with it up. That's saying a lot, since I have 6 active felines, 3 of whom weigh more than 10lbs. They walk along the edge of the playard all the time and will scramble over the top of it, but the poles are holding up perfectly well without any signs of damage.

I cannot recommend this enough if you have cats, or if your baby will be sleeping anywhere else that does (friends, relatives). We use the tent over top of the 3-Way Pack'n'Play, and it works great! I don't have to worry about the cats getting near my baby while he's napping and I'm not in the room, or about them getting fur in the bassinet. I've seen 2 of our 15 lb cats go running full speed through the house, hit the tent, and bounce off. It didn't budge the tent. The only down side is it's a little bit of a pain to thread the support rods through to set it up, but it's not that bad. Again, if you have cats (or any other pets you want to keep away from the baby), you need to get this!

This has become a lifesaver. We have three cats and I was not willing to give them up. The tent really does keep the cats out. One of my cats has actually jumped onto the tent, but baby stayed safe. I agree it is a pain to put together, but you only have to do it once. And although it is a bit pricey, I feel it's worth it.

I love this product because it gave me a safe place to put my baby when I needed to leave the room for a few minutes, and I knew my 2 year-old would not disturb him and baby could not climb out (baby is almost one year-old)
