Amazon.com Product Description
Give your satellite speakers a sleek, contemporary foundation while also improving their audio performance with these Sanus adjustable speaker stands. Boasting a European-style profile and a durable powder-coated black finish, the stands suspend your home theater speakers at the ideal listening height--from 28 to 42 inches depending on the height of your chairs or couch--letting you sit back and enjoy the full splendor of your surround sound system. Each stand also features a cast-iron base engineered for solid support, along with your choice of premium adjustable floor spikes or custom screw-in rubber feet to provide stability and minimum resonance on any floor surface. Meanwhile, the steel top plate includes custom speaker isolation pads to further enhance the sound quality. A further bonus stems from the stands' concealed wire path, which hides your speaker cable from view to improve the room's overall aesthetics.

The stands fit most satellite speakers weighing 10 pounds or less. Some assembly is required, though it takes just a few minutes using a Phillips screwdriver. The stands are also backed by a five-year warranty.

What's in the Box
Two high-mass base plates, two adjustable-height pillars, two medium top plates, two small top plates, two L-shaped speaker brackets, two Klipsch Quintent brackets, two Klipsch RS brackets, two threaded stud mounts, six pad feet and six carpet spikes, eight speaker isolation pads, assembly hardware, user's manual.

4 out of 5 stars Great speaker stands for the price   April 7, 2005

I've had the stands for about a week. I ordered my stands online, because the "big name" stores like Best Buy and Circuit City in my area were sold out since Christmas. I like them enough that I'm going to order another set.

PROS:
*Reasonable Price (plus, free shipping from Amazon)
*Hides the wires inside of the pole
*Adjustable height (helps with proper speaker placement and sound)
*Nice look

CONS:
*Directions included with the product are a bit unclear
(only reason I didn't give it 5 stars)

3 out of 5 stars Overall Good Stands   May 23, 2006

I purchased two pairs of these stands to mount my Sapphire Speakers that I purchased from Tweeter. After a trip to the hardware store to buy some nuts, bolts and washers I was able to mount my surround speakers with the included L-Brackets. Threading the wire through the poles was very easy. The finish is a "crackle" paint and they look good with my high gloss "piano black" speakers.

On the downside, my front speakers are taller and the L-Brackets were too short so I had to make an extension so they were long enough to mount to the speakers. I am lucky I have access to a metal shop so making the extension was easily done. Since I mounted the extension to the back of the L-Bracket it really isn't visible, but I would have preferred a properly sized bracket. Also one of the stands was damaged so I had to repair a threaded hole so it would assemble to the bracket. This required another trip to the hardware store to purchase a tap.

The stands seem to be stable, but they could be easily knocked over. I would feel more comfortable with slightly larger and heavier bases. The stands are really easy to assemble, but as another reviewer stated the instructions aren't written clearly. Overall I would still recommend the stands. They are still better than most of the competition.

5 out of 5 stars Better than expected   September 8, 2007

I received my four Sanus System speaker stands and was pleasantly surprised by their quality, and by how easy they were to assemble. They fit and hold my Klipsch Quintet speakers perfectly -- with the brackets specially designed for this model of speakers. The stands also come with several plates that fit a variety of speaker types.

The stands are easy to adjust up and down, and are not top heavy with my speakers. While the black coating is very nice, it is loosely bonded to the metal. I dropped a screw on the floor plate and it nicked the paint to bare metal.

By the way, I found the instructions easy to understand and follow, so perhaps they have been updated.

Here's a tip during assembly, especially if you are using 14-ga lamp cord: insert the cord into the tubes before you screw the tube to the floor plate.

Final comment: great stands at a great price. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Regarding William Weller's comments   June 24, 2006

William gave some very helpful information, but I think he tried to mount the speakers backwards on the L-bracket, which is why he thought he needed to extend the bracket. The bottom part of the bracket is not supposed to go on the bottom of the speaker. It is supposed to be perpendicular to the back of the speaker.

I bought these speaker stands for use with an Infinity TS-1100 system. They work very well with these speakers (there were no reviews beforehand). There were a few minor issues with trying to get 14 gauge speaker wire through the holes so I left the wires hanging (not very appealing to the eyes but it works).
