Product Description For the true popcorn lover who wants perfect popcorn every time. Only the Genuine Whirley-Pop Original Hand-Cranked Popping Machine pops up popcorn the way professionals do (like movie theatres). The unique hand-cranked stirring paddle coats each kernel evenly for great taste with less oil. The aluminum pan and stainless steel stirring system create high heat and prevent burning so every kernel pops up to 42 times its original size. Built in steam vents eliminate soggy popcorn and makes every bite light and crispy. Hardwood handles stay cool. 6 piece set: red popcorn popper (6 quart capacity), 4 pouches of popcorn (each makes 6 quarts of popcorn), and instruction and recipe guide.

Tough steel makes crunchy, fluffy popcorn! May 12, 2008 Ricardo Ochoa Delicious popcorn comes from this pot. Throw away that chemical microwave poison and use this!
you'll never eat microwave popcorn again! March 23, 2008 Gevera Bert (Wallingford, CT USA) My old popper like this broke and I got the Whirley-Pop to replace it. Once you make popcorn like this you'll never eat the microwaved junk again! It only takes a few minutes more to make popcorn on the stove--half a cup of kernels and some oil, and in five minutes you've got a big, yummy bowl of hot popcorn. I wasn't crazy about their packaged mix. Too salty and too dry. But the popper itself is excellent and also comes with a decent warranty on the parts that tend to break on these--the gears and the handle.
mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm February 8, 2008 Marlena (Mishawaka, IN) The Whirley-Pop popcorn maker made the best homemade popcorn I have ever had. I used the popcorn oil / popcorn kit that came with it and I also bought the popcorn buttery topping (like they have at the theater). The popcorn left very few kernels and was very light and fluffy. If you are a popcorn lover like I am, I highly recommend this product.
Works great, pan is a little "thin", glad it has a warranty! November 2, 2007 Tor (Las Cruces, NM) This pan works great for popping various kinds of popcorn. I really enjoy making kettle corn in it... although the sugar is a little difficult to clean.... a good soak in some hot soapy water helps make that a lot easier.
The gears *will* break, but here's what you do: October 14, 2007 Barbsjemms (Outside Philly) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Give the Wabash people a call. They will ask you when you bought the popper and they will register your product. Then they will send you a brand new lid no questions asked. They will continue to do this for the next 25 years. I wish the entire gear system was made of metal, but with impeccable customer service like Wabash provides, I can overlook that. As for the popper itself, the other reviews pretty much cover it. More fun and healthier than microwave popcorn and easier to store than a hot air job. I use 1/8 cup olive oil to 1/2 cup popcorn and don't even bother turning the gear until I hear the first kernel explode. I'm hoping this will save wear and tear for next time. I melt a tablespoon or two of butter over the top just 'cause I like the taste and add a little salt right in the kettle (be sure to use a potholder...it's hot!). Once the popcorn is gone, I fit the lid back on and stick it back under the cabinet. I don't even bother to wipe it out. Keeps it nice and seasoned!
