Product Description The long pulled stem and exaggerated balloon silhouette gives these glasses elegance, but the etched designs are what give them panache. Spirals, stripes, and polka dots distinguish each glass from its sibling. This will help when it comes time for guests to identify their own drink too! Very hip, lots of fun, chin chin!

Beautiful Glasses February 12, 2005 michael__v (brooklyn, ny United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I saw these in the mall and they seemed overpriced so I came to Amazon and found them at a more reasonable price. These glasses are beautiful, yes they are large but that only means you wont be filling your glass as often. Very good quality, striking appearance and well worth the price.

I was looking for some nice regular size wine glasses & I saw these. They are really nice but they are BIG. I did not realize how big they were. But if you like the big wine glasses you will like these. they are pretty.
Everything about this Mikasa series is great!!! March 2, 2006 Lala Lady (Los Angeles, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was my first Amazon non-book/entertainment item. I have a new place, with contemporary furntiure and was looking for clear stemware, but not the same old, same old, plain clear kind. I was skeptical - but ordered a 20 glass assortment - these balloons, plus the white wine and martini glasses. They just came - in PERFECT condition, beautifully packaged, quickly shipped. They are, indeed, a "10" - but Amazon only allows us to rate them a "5". They are contemporary, thin-rimmed and - NOT made in China - but in France. Amazing. Believe me, I had taken many trips to the outlets (including Mikasa, Fitz & Floyd) Pier 1, Cost Plus, as well as at the pricier home goods stores in Southern California... The outlets could not match the Amazon price. Save gas, $$$$ and duck crowds. Go Amazon and wait a few days for your doorbell to ring. You will be very happy.
Be Aware of the Size!! November 30, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These glasses are beautiful, but please read before you buy. They hold 24 oz and I was surprised at the large size when I received them. I felt like a little kid holding a huge glass.
They're So Beautiful I Could Cry July 16, 2004 Anne Milligan 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had seen this set of red wine crystal in various upscale magazines for quite some time, but it wasn't until I met these lovely glasses in person that I fell absolutely in love. The etched lines were simple, retro, and almost optical in their quality. To call them artistic would seem cliche, but there is truly no better word for such careful attention to design and such joyful form in the functionality of what is anything BUT another red wine glass. I've seen imitations (in person) at both Target and Pier One... but nothing comes close to matching this set in the quality and consistency of the etched lines. The large size for this red wine Mikasa is a winning point, in my opinion-- but I've always loved the balloon-style. These glasses certainly aren't for the Port or Madeira crowd; I use my two sets for the warm Cabernet-Merlot nights... as often as possible.
