A kitchen must have February 17, 2008 Great Cook (Santa Monica, California) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is really a Kitchen must have. I'm not a microwave cooker, but this works perfect if you follow the directions, and do not put the lid on while cooking in your microwave. Only use the lid for taking out of the microwave, and draining. I made wholewheat pasta , and it was perfect and did not stick. Also egg noodles came out perfect. I like to wash the starch off of my pasta, and with this I still can with out useing a collender. Using this, I do not have to wait for the water to boil, nothing boils over on my stove, and there is not a callender to wash either. No mess at all. I put this on the top shelf of my dishwasher, it washed with out a problem. I bought mine from qvc, and it came with two, for more money then this, but still a good price.. Would buy again.. Two thumbs up. Great invention.
Simply amazing! March 3, 2008 J. Acosta (Miami, Florida United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This product is truly amazing. It works exactly as described. Quicker than the "boiling pot" method if you add up the waiting for the water to boil in the pot plus the pasta cooking time. So far I have tried it for linguine and they came out wonderfully. I would recommend this to anyone.
Great product, and easy to use February 21, 2008 Meghan Godby 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
My mom purchased the set of 2 Fasta Pasta cookers on QVC, and gave me one of them. She has used it several times since and loves it, and I used it for the first time tonight. I work full-time and am a student, so at the end of the day I don't feel like doing much cooking. Pasta is one of my favorite foods, and although cooking it the traditional way isn't difficult, there is a lot of "watching" and "stirring" to be done. This product works great, and is very easy to use. I had pasta ready in about 15 minutes time, with no mess. The noodles came out perfect, and did not stick together. The only way I could think to improve this product is if they included other suggestions for using it, or some recipes. Evidently on QVC they used it to cook vegetables, shrimp, and other things. I'm sure it could be figured out easily, but I don't have much cooking expertise. Overall I love this product! Not very expensive and takes the hassle out of cooking pasta.
Best Purchase I Ever Made! June 25, 2008 ShellBell 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
What a great product!! I would've never thought that I'd be cooking pasta in a microwave. Three of my friends had bought it and raved about it, so I took a chance and bought one too. I love that you just pop it in the microwave, set the timer, and walk away and still get perfect pasta every time!! It's great now that it's summer - I'm not heating up the whole kitchen to boil 6 qts. of water. This uses 2 cups or less of water - I've never seen anything like it. It looks so simple but works so well - I'm buying more for gifts for my friends and family.
Where was this in 1990?! June 20, 2008 NRS3 (Minneapolis, MN) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I live in a large rented room with no kitchen and so I make most meals with my microwave oven. Being a bachelor, preparing 1 or 2 servings at a time is what I need. The final result was perfect pasta, not mushy "paste-ah". I can't even say that about making spaghetti the traditional way. It really works.
