Amazon.com Review Heat-resistant up to 400 degrees F, these large nylon utensils won't melt in a hot skillet or on a backyard grill. They're tough and durable, they won't scratch nonstick cookware, and they're dishwasher-safe. Their handles are notched on the backs so they can rest on a pan's edge without sliding, and they have holes so they can be hung on a hook or a peg. The set consists of a 14-inch spatula with a 4-by-4-inch head, beveled to slide easily under food; a 13-inch spatula with a 3-by-3-3/4-inch head, also beveled; a 13-inch ladle with a 5-ounce-capacity head; and a 13-1/2-inch spoon with a 4-inch oval head. --Fred Brack

Good Starter Set of Nonstick Utensils February 1, 2001 Michela (Seattle, WA, USA) 35 out of 40 found this review helpful
The Calphalon 4-Piece Nylon Utensil Set is a perfect way to begin your collection of these well-designed and useful nonstick kitchen essentials. This set would also make a very nice gift, especially if it is included along with some other Calphalon items, such as the Nonstick Cookie Sheets, or a Nonstick pot, pan, wok, or griddle. This starter set includes the small and large Calphalon Nonstick spatulas in the unique shape that works so well in the Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Omelet/Frying Pans. There is also a generous-sized soup ladle and a serving spoon. I love to keep my black nylon Calphalon utensils in a tall crock jar near my stovetop for convenience. Hand-washing is recommended.
Great Spatulas! January 18, 2002 Nicola C. Kinsella (New York, NY United States) 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
As I spend a lot of time cooking in the galley of a boat I've tried lots of different brands of nylon utensils because I need something that will not rust in the salty environment. Calphalon has the only spatulas that have a fine enough edge to easily lift pancakes and crepes (for when I'm not feeling nimble enough to flip them in the pan) without ripping them apart, and the edge has not disintegrated/melted over time from heat, as other brands do, even after six months of constant use.
handles weighted wrong November 6, 2002 V. Otteson (Midway, UT USA) 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
These are very attractive and work great as long as you don't let go of one. They are weighted in the handles and all of these utensils constantly fall out of skillets and pans. Besides this being messy, if one hits you it could be dangerous. After many accidents, I don't use them anymore. I do not recommend.
Love 'em November 26, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought these after searching all around for heat resistent cooking utensils, and I'm so glad I did. I no longer have plastic melting into whatever it is I'm cooking!! I can even leave them sitting in the pan when cooking, and they still haven't melted. And, since they are plastic, my husband can now cook without fear of getting in trouble for scratching my pans!
Great basic four April 15, 2003 Robert W. Geary (Harwich, MA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I use these both on non-stick (which I don't have much of) and the regular Calphalon hard anodized stuff. They are big enough to be useful and won't harm non-stick or scratch and leave marks on stainless as well. I do put them in the dishwasher, (top shelf) and they USUALLY come out clean. Anything with melted cheese or gooey stuff probably will need to be scrubbed with a dobie. They have a nice balance and don't fall into the pot...they are so long that probably wouldn't be a problem anyway. At this price, you can't go wrong.
