Amazon.com Review Gingham, plaid, houndstooth, and stripes--the five towels in this set come in four different patterns (two are striped) to ensure that drying dishes never gets boring. All are woven of 100-percent cotton for excellent absorbency and easy care. Simply toss a dirty one in the washing machine. The set is an economical way to keep a steady supply on hand, and makes a great housewarming gift. Each towel measures approximately 18 by 28 inches before initial washing and drying, during which some shrinkage may occur. --Ann Bieri

Practical selection for co-ordinated kitchen! Soft & absorbent! April 6, 2008 ! Betty Dravis (San Jose, CA) 25 out of 30 found this review helpful
Since my family hasn't chosen a color scheme for the kitchen and adjoining dining room of our new residence, I chose this neutral color of tan (titled "linen" by the manufacturer) for our kitchen towels. I ordered six sets so we could use the old ones as cleaning rags. Admittedly, they're not that raggedy, but they're not color-co-ordinated so ... what the heck! For the kitchen decor we're thinking of a light yellow with a complementary shade of green ... or perhaps blue. But meanwhile, since these "linen-colored" towels will blend well with almost every shade, we can't go wrong. They also come in other aesthetic colors, any of which I would have chosen if we had already selected our decor. I chose this set because it has five towels for the same price as others that have only two, and they're attractive in a soft, elegant way: coming in assorted patterns of gingham, plaid, houndstooth, and two striped (refer to the above photo). Since these towels are 100-percent cotton, they're extra absorbent and machine washable. In addition to those practical features, they're the 18x28" size that I've always preferred. The manufacturer warns that some shrinkage may occur, but I found that to be minimal to non-existent, and was pleased that these towels kept their shape so well. I got a big LOL from the manufacturer saying that by having various patterns, drying dishes would never get boring. That's a bunch of nonsense, and has nothing to do with boredom. Although my reward in drying is the satisfaction in keeping one's home running smoothly, the only time I'm not bored with that job is when a sociable family member (or friend) washes while I dry. It's the companionship and friendly banter that makes an everyday, ordinary household chore fun. Would anyone like to come over and wash dishes while I dry? Or I'll wash, if you prefer. I guarantee that neither of us will be bored. Reviewed by: Betty Dravis, 2008 1106 Grand Boulevard
Made in India August 6, 2006 Dwight (USA) 14 out of 18 found this review helpful
As with all my red dishtowels, these are made in India. This is my first time using dishtowels. I chose red so I wouldn't hesitate to wipe up colored fluids. I washed these super hot and dried them in the dryer first thing. They are fine and lovely so if you have 1970s bad experiences with textiles from India, be assured that things have changed for the better. This is the cheapest price I have found for dishtowels so far. I'm trying to cut down on paper towel usage especially for drying my hands so this purchase alleviates a small degree of dismay at my pollution of the planet. I use these all the time.
Doesn't do the job October 26, 2006 Irene Fuerst (San Francisco) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I found these nearly worthless for drying dishes. They are not absorbent enough. I gave these two stars only because you can use them for something besides dishes, and because one towel in the set is a thick, loose weave that actually absorbs water.
Great looking and nice to embroider on March 23, 2007 Carol (Chatsworth, CA United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
These look very nice, expensive, and feel nice. I embroidered on them for gifts and they came out beautifully. (you can see the embroidered towels on my personal site [...] UPDATE: I've since ordered several of the other brands in the same price range and they can't compare to these. For the price, it's a very good value and I plan on purchasing other colors as well as more of these. I should have given them FIVE stars!
These are very nice looking towels and dry great too! January 20, 2007 A. D'Ambrosio (Seattle, WA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
What can I say other than they look great and do the job well! Good towels for the price!
