Black & Decker Aromaster Coffee Maker October 17, 2007 Catherine A. Quinlan 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was looking for a reasonably priced coffee maker that got the job done without too many bells & whistles. This appliance is excellent, autoomatic on & off, warming plate up to two hours, NO-Drip carafe! It is simple and efficient and makes a great cup of Joe. KQ
Black & Decker Warranty Rigidity September 11, 2007 Derrick Bell (New York, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Based on Consumer Reports recommendations, and the company's description,I ordered the Black & Decker DCM2500 Coffeemaker. It arrived promptly through Brand Variety, but on first use, I discovered a serious leak in the carafe between the plastic top and the glass. I contacted Black & Decker about the defective carafe asking that they send me a replacement. They told me that the carafe was not covered by the warranty, but that they would sell me a new carafe. I then contacted Brand Variety who said I could return the coffeemaker for a credit on its cost. They promised to send me a prepaid return label, but their letter did not contain the return label. The policy seems to be spend millions for advertising, but only pennies for customer service. Derrick Bell
Good coffee, bad clock February 12, 2008 Victor (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this coffee maker for our office based on many positive Amazon reviews (now unavailable). It brews excellent coffee, looks good, and pours well. However, the clock continually resets itself -- it can't keep time for more than a couple of hours before resetting to 12 PM and counting from there. Since the clock is unreliable, the programmed-brewing feature cannot be used. And having the wrong time continually displayed (in very bright LEDs) in an office environment can only reflect poorly on the business. So we will most likely be looking for another model.
Disappointing April 11, 2008 Stonehenge (Minneapolis, MN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading reviews of several coffee makers we decided on the Black & Decker Smart Brew DCM2500. We had no problems with the unit so far as operation but our purchase was placed into service 12-14-2007 and it brewed it's last pot of coffee on 4-10-2008. A total of less than 4 mos. service and the heating/brewing element quit. For the cost of shipping, etc. (even tho' it's under warranty) it's not worth the hassle. We would also be without a coffee maker for whatever time it would take to have repairs made under the warranty, so we'll take our $30 loss and find another brand (locally) where we can haul it back to the store next time.
DO NOT BUY! July 4, 2008 Justin Nuther Reviewer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wrote a review a while back when I first bought the black-colored version of this coffee maker. I wrote about the clock not working for more than a day, and also gave measurements to show that the coffee maker does not work well with overhead cabinets because the lid raises up and hits the cabinets. Well, today the coffee maker died. It stopped pumping, and the heater element isn't turning on. I only had this coffee maker for a few months, and already it is broken. For $29, I did get what I paid for. BUYER, please beware! This is a VERY cheap coffee maker!!!
